[Toy Review] BMS Addiction Steven Realistic Dildo

As many of you know by now, I’m a big proponent of making quality sex toys more affordable. There are still too many poorly made, poor quality toys on the market, many of which are made from harmful and toxic materials. That’s why I was excited to try the BMS Steven, part of the new Addiction realistic dildo range.

Silicone realistic dildo from BMS

Over the coming weeks, I’ll also be reviewing the Edward and the Luke from the same range in partnership with The Pleasure Garden, a delightful woman-owned and inclusive online sex shop.

Meet Steven: Materials and Design

Addiction by BMS is a new range of realistic dildos made from 100% silicone. Unlike the TPE, TPR, jelly, and mystery materials that make up many cheap realistic sex toys, silicone is non-porous, non-toxic, and completely body-safe.

The silicone used for this toy is particularly matte and very flexible. I have to admit, when I first took it out of the packaging, part of me was questioning whether it was really pure silicone at all. It feels very different to any silicone toy I’ve encountered before. I flame-tested it to be sure (don’t try this at home!) and luckily it passed, so you can rest assured it’s definitely silicone. The things I do in the name of sex journalism!

Realistic dildo from BMS - Steven lifelike sex toy

If you’ve used TPE/TPR toys and enjoyed the texture, this would be a good upgrade. You’ll get much of the same squishiness and flexibility, only in a non-porous toy. If you prefer very soft, silky or smooth silicone, this toy might not be for you.

It also attract lint (and, in my house, cat hair) like whoa. Always give it a wipe down or a quick wash before use.

The Steven is a straight realistic dildo with impressive detailing including lifelike veins on the shaft, a contoured head, and textured balls. It measures 7.4″ (19cm) in total length, of which around 5″ are insertable, and measures 1.5″ (3.8cm) in diameter at the widest point.

BMS Steven bullet vibe and realistic sex toy

It also comes with a suction cup base, and with an accompanying single-speed miniature bullet vibe (which requires 3 LR44 watch batteries, included.) There isn’t a slot to insert the vibe into the toy, so it needs to be held and operated separately.

In Use

I found the BMS Addiction Steven easy and comfortable to insert and use. Its flexible shaft means you can angle it in exactly the way that works for you as you insert it. Because the silicone is so grabby, I recommend using a LOT of lube. I used Promescent aloe lube because it happened to be the nearest bottle to the bed at the time, but any water-based lube will work.

Personally, I don’t love the shape of the Steven. I much prefer curved toys for internal stimulation. Straight toys like this one tend to poke my cervix (ow) more easily than they hit my G-spot.

I also found it quite hard to angle the Steven once it was inserted as it’s so flexible. I like my toys to have some flex (erm, there are exceptions) but there’s such a thing as too much of a good thing. The Steven was too bendy and not firm enough for me.

Of course, bodies are all different! This isn’t a judgement on the toy’s quality, just on how well it worked for me. If you prefer straight shaped toys or lots of flex, it might be the perfect match for you.

Mini bullet vibrator

The accompanying vibe is, I’m sorry to say, a complete waste of time if you like anything other than fairly weak and VERY buzzy stimulation. It only has one speed and offers that infuriating, numbing, surface-level vibration that puts many clitoris-owners off vibes entirely. I don’t really know why the manufacturer felt the need to include it, especially now you can get powerful bullet vibrators at affordable prices.

FAQs

Can I use the Steven realistic dildo in the bath or shower?

Yes. 100% silicone toys without motors are completely safe to use in water. Remember: you still need to use lube! Oil-based lube is great for playing in water. The accompanying bullet vibe isn’t waterproof.

What’s the point of a suction cup?

Suction cups allow you to fix your toy to a solid surface (like a wall, mirror, floor, or the bathroom tiles) and use it hands-free. The Steven’s suction cup is impressively strong and stays put very nicely, even during vigorous use.

Is the Steven harness-compatible?

Yes… kind of. The suction cup base means you can use the Steven realistic dildo in most strap-on harnesses. It wouldn’t be my first choice for harness play, because the suction cup is quite flimsy and the toy is flexible enough that getting the right angle while thrusting could be difficult. But yes, you certainly can if you want to.

Is the Steven anal-safe?

Yep. The balls and suction cup create a large enough base to make the Steven A-okay for anal play.

How do I clean by silicone dildo?

Your best bet is to throw it in a large pan of boiling water for a few minutes. Failing that, use a 10% bleach solution and rinse thoroughly, or use a sterile medical wipe followed by gentle soap and warm water.

Verdict

Ultimately, my verdict on this one is landing on “perfectly fine but not a great fit for me.” The BMS Addiction Steven is an affordably priced and body-safe realistic dildo, and I’m really glad it exists. Any toys that steer beginners or those on a budget towards body-safe choices can only be a good thing.

The shape and level of flex didn’t really work for my body, but that doesn’t mean the Steven couldn’t be a great fit for yours!

The Steven retails for £24.88 from The Pleasure Garden.

[Toy Review] Lovehoney x ROMP Switch Suction Clitoral Stimulator

I love many of Womanizer’s products and their suction-based clitoral stimulators are second to none. (Which is probably why so many companies have shamelessly ripped them off since!) But there’s one issue: most of them are really, really expensive.

This puts first-time users off. And I get it. I probably wouldn’t spend £70 for the most basic model (or £170 for a fancy high-end version) of something if I wasn’t pretty damn sure it would work for me. Reviewers and fans have been calling for a more affordable version for ages.

Well, here it is. Let’s take a closer look at the ROMP Switch, an exclusive collaboration between Lovehoney and ROMP by Womanizer.

Get Switch-ed On

The ROMP Switch is a clitoral suction toy utilising the same trademarked Pleasure Air technology as the rest of the Womanizer range. It came attractively packaged in a branded green box with a picture of the toy on the front:

Lovehoney Womanizer ROMP Switch sex toy packaging

The Switch measures 5 inches in length and features a tapered ergonomic handle. Its body is made of ABS plastic in an attractive lilac purple, and its nozzle is made of silicone, meaning that the toy is 100% non-porous and body-safe. The nozzle is removeable for easy cleaning.

ROMP Switch clitoral suction toy

The ROMP Switch is a battery-powered toy, requiring 2 x AAA batteries (included.) You’ll get a seriously impressive 300 minutes (around 5 hours) of runtime out of a set of batteries! For reference, I’ve never had a rechargeable toy last that long on a single charge. The ROMP Switch is splashproof but not waterproof, so bear that in mind if you’re a fan of bath wanking.

The ROMP Switch retails for a very affordable £34.99, and you can get a further 10% off by using my code “coffkink10” at checkout. If you’re specifically looking for a rechargeable toy, you can get the rechargeable ROMP Shine for £15 more.

Use and Experience

Yes, yes, yes! Ultimately, the litmus test for any sex toy is “does it get me off reliably?” and dear God, yes, the ROMP Switch delivers in that regard.

Nozzle of clitoral suction vibrator

The shape is good, and the gentle curve means it was easy to get a good seal around my clit with the nozzle. I found it easiest to hold the toy with the handle pointing downwards, but some may find rotating it 90 degrees (so the handle points up towards your stomach) is more comfortable. Experiment and see what works – there’s no right or wrong way to do it.

The ROMP Switch has six power settings, ranging from a gentle lapping up to “powerful” and then “holy shit”. The two-button interface is simple, and – praise the sex toy deities! – features +/- controls so you can change the setting either up or down. The buttons are easy to press, intuitively placed on the front of the toy in the middle, and easy to feel for without looking.

The ROMP Switch’s nozzle is quite firm, and I found that adding plenty of lube made my experience much more pleasurable and fun. Swirl some water-based lube on the toy’s nozzle and/or your body before you get started.

It’s important to note that if you’re used to traditional vibrators, suction clitoral stimulators feel very different. Some people liken it to the feeling of cunnilingus, though I personally don’t experience them as similar. The best way I can describe it is a kind of very rapid tapping sensation on your clit.

The ROMP Switch gets me off every bit as well as many of the more expensive suction toys I’ve tried, and better than some. Yes, it’s lean on extra features (for example, it doesn’t offer additional vibrations, patterns, or a fancy silencing function.) But all those things are just that: extras, not essentials. This is a simple but effective toy that does the job it’s designed to do, and does it damn well.

Womanizer ROMP Switch clitoral stimulator with pleasure air technology

If I have one complaint about this toy, it’s the noise. It is noticeably noisier than some of the pricier suction sex toys I’ve used, though the noise is somewhat dampened when it’s pressed against the body. I didn’t find it particularly intrusive or problematic, but it’s something to be aware of if discretion is important to you.

Final Thoughts and Verdict

If you’ve never tried a clitoral suction toy and you’re curious, you could do a lot worse than the ROMP Switch. Likewise if you’re into that kind of sensation and you’re on a budget.

Effective, affordable, and cute – what’s not to like?

[Toy Review] Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator

There are some sex acts that are relatively easy to mimic with toys, such as penetrative sex. There are others which are more difficult, though companies have tried valiantly – the blowjob being one such example. And then there are acts that it is seemingly impossible to replicate with a toy. Exhibit A: cunnilingus.

Suction toys have claimed for years that they simulate oral sex. Toys like the Sqweel have tried and, if the reviews are to be believed, largely failed. Today I’m reviewing the Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator, another toy that claims to simulate cunnilingus. But how did it fare? Let’s find out!

Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator

The Sohimi Tongue Vibrator is a mini clit tickler toy, featuring a large rounded base topped with a small flickering tongue. When the toy is on, the tongue oscillates or flicks rapidly back and forth.

When I unboxed this toy, the first thing that struck me was how small it is. Yes, I know it’s called a mini vibrator, but I wasn’t expecting it to be quite this small. It measures a petite 3″ in height and 2″ in diameter. The tongue is about 1″ long. Thanks to its tiny size, it is super light and fits neatly in my small hand.

The best way I can describe this toy is to say that it reminds me of a cross between a flower and one of those plastic candles with artificial flames that you get on restaurant tables.

Sohimi tongue vibrator for women and people with vulvas

The Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator is 100% waterproof and rechargeable via the included USB charging base. It is made of body-safe and surprisingly soft matte silicone in an attractive shade of purple. And yes, it’s definitely real silicone!

Does it feel like cunnilingus?

In all honesty, no.

The thing about cunnilingus is that it’s not just about the back and forth flicking sensation of a tongue. It’s actually a combination of many different sensations – the warmth and wetness of a lover’s mouth, the feel of their hot breath on your bits, that moment when they bury their whole face between your legs as if they want to devour you. So much of what makes cunnilingus great just cannot be replicated with a toy.

So no, the Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator does not really feel like oral sex. But that doesn’t mean it’s a bad toy.

But does it feel good?

Yes, it actually does!

Given how choosy my clit is and how much of a power-queen I tend to be, I was a little skeptical to begin with. Would a tiny little clitoral vibrator costing $27 be able to do anything for me?

Well, I am happy to report that it did! The flickering motion feels fantastic and distinctly different from a traditional vibrator. The tongue is structured yet flexible, so it’s ideal for those who love pinpoint stimulation but want something a bit gentler than a hard plastic vibrator.

Flickering tongue vibrator clitoral sex toy

It took a little experimenting to get it right. My clitoral glans is extremely sensitive and direct stimulation is usually too intense to be pleasurable. In the end, I discovered that the most pleasurable way for me to use the Mini Tongue Vibrator was to allow the tongue to flicker against the side of my clit. (The left side is more pleasurable on my body, don’t ask me why.) So if you get one of these, take the time to experiment and try out different placements to see what works for you.

Pro tip: this is a toy that you really need to use lube with. Without it (even when I was quite wet) I found the tongue flicking action uncomfortable. Add a very generous blob of water-based lube to the tongue itself and/or your vulva before you start, and reapply as necessary.

Controls and Interface

The Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator operates on a one-button interface, which sits in the centre of the toy’s base and is easy to press. Hold it for two seconds to turn on, cycle through the patterns with quick presses, then hold it for a further two seconds to turn off.

The Mini Tongue Vibrator has 10 settings total: 3 constant speeds and 7 patterns. I think it’s well-known by now that I don’t generally care for patterns much. This is a “stick it on the highest constant setting and leave it there” toy for me.

Other Important Info

The Mini Tongue Vibrator is certainly not a silent toy, but its volume is well within the range of what I consider acceptable. It makes the same kind of low, consistent buzz as a mid-powered vibrator.

It’s also worth being aware that this toy isn’t really one that you can press hard into your vulva (or you can, but the flickering motion will be severely impeded.) Too much pressure and it will stop flicking or slow down a lot.

The pictures on the website seem to imply you can use this toy internally. Which, obviously, I had to try. The verdict? You technically can, but it probably won’t do anything. The tongue is so short that it can’t get even an inch inside the vagina so, unless you particularly enjoy stimulation right at your entrance, this is an external-only toy.

Final Verdict

I’m going to declare this one “surprisingly good for the price!” No, it doesn’t feel like cunnilingus, but it provides something a bit different to a standard vibrator that still feels really good. It’s also small, portable, and body-safe.

The Sohimi Mini Tongue Vibrator retails for $26.99.

5 Best Vibrators Under $45 (North American edition)

I did a UK edition of this post last week, so if you’re looking for the best vibrators on a budget in the UK, check that out. Because different products are available in different places, I thought two versions would make the most sense.

5 of the Best Vibrators Under $45

Let’s dive in. Here some five of the best vibrators you can get in North America for under $40 US. As with the UK edition, everything listed here is a product I’ve actually tried and actually love.

By the way: I picked $45 as the cut-off for the North American version of this post because $45 is around £33, so the actual price-points are very similar.

Lovehoney Humdinger, $29.99

Humdinger vibrator by Lovehoney. External vibe for clit play

It’s the innovative shape that really makes this one, for me. The motor is powerful and rumbly (surprisingly so for a battery-operated toy) and the combo of the clit-hugging hood shape and the hard nub on the back is close to perfection.

Get it here.

Blush Exposed Nocturnal, $33

Blush Exposed Nocturnal bullet vibe for clit play, one of the best vibrators under $45

Ever since I first tried it, I’ve been obsessed with this amazing little bullet vibrator from Blush. It’s massively powerful, rumbly, has amazing battery life, and never fails to get the job done quickly and reliably.

Get it here.

Noje Mini Wand, $35.99

Noje Mini Wand, one of the best vibrators under $45 in the US

This is the second Blush Novelties toy on this list for good reason. They just produce so many great products at affordable price points! This teeny tiny little wand is not only powerful and well-made, but also pretty af. I love the mint green colour!

Get it here.

Satisfyer Number 2, $40

Satisfyer Number 2 clitoral suction vibrator

This is a battery-powered version of Satisfyer’s best-selling clitoral suction stimulator, making it more affordable. It might be a more basic equivalent but it still features 11 suction intensity levels and a body-safe silicone nozzle.

(I know it’s not technically a vibrator but it still meets the spirit of this list!)

Get it here.

VeDo Izzy, $43

VeDo Izzy, one of the best vibrators under $45 in North America

Izzy by VeDo is a surprisingly powerful and surprisingly affordable clitoral vibe that I absolutely loved. It’s a fairly standard lay-on/pebble shape, but that nub at the top really elevates it for me. It’s amazing for both pinpoint and broader clitoral stimulation.

5 Best Vibrators Under £35 (UK edition.)

You don’t have to spend a fortune to get amazing sex toys! In fact, some of my favourite toys are relatively affordable (meanwhile I’ve tried some abusrdly expensive ones that didn’t feel worth the money at all.)

I’ve been pondering this piece for a while and I’ve finally decided I’m going to do a UK edition and a North American edition, because different products are available in different places.

5 of the Best Vibrators Under £35

So without further ado, here some five of the best vibrators under £35 that you can get in the UK. Everything listed here is a product I’ve actually tried and actually love.

Rocks Off Bamboo (£16.99)

Rocks Off Bamboo gold lipstick vibrator for clit stimulation

I love Rocks Off (that’s why they appear on this list twice!) They produce some of the best vibrators at affordable prices that I’ve ever encountered.

The Bamboo is a basic bullet vibrator that pretty much does what it says on the tin. Its tapered lipstick-shaped tip is great for precision clitoral stimulation. It’s not knock-your-socks-off powerful, but for a small battery-powered bullet that’s under £20 it’s pretty damn good.

Lovehoney Humdinger (£24.99)

Humdinger vibrator by Lovehoney. External vibe for clit play

This one was a real surprise to me. Many of Lovehoney’s own-brand basic vibrators use surprisingly decent and rumbly motors, but it’s the shape of the Humdinger that really blew me away.

The cup-shaped head surrounds your clit, spreading stimulation across the whole area.

Buy it here and get 10% off with code coffkink10.

Blush Exposed Noctural (£26.99)

The Exposed Nocturnal lipstick buillet vibrator

This is simply the best bullet vibrator I have ever tried. It pretty much lives by my bed and is never out of charge. It’s unbelievably powerful and rumbly, and has the rare honour of having patterns I actually like.

As a bonus, the battery life lasts ages even on full power.

Buy it here and get 10% off with code coffeeandkink, or here.

Lovehoney Ignite Bullet

Lovehoney Ignite bullet vibrator, one of the best vibrators at an affordable price

When I reviewed this toy, I said it had amongst the best motors I had felt in a toy at this price point. I stand by that assessment now! It is a great body-safe basic with 20 different settings and patterns. Ideal for figuring out what you like or just getting lots of different sensations out of one toy!

Buy it here and get 10% off with code coffkink10.

Rocks Off Chaiamo (£33.99)

The Rocks Off Chaiamo vibrator in black, one of the best vibrators under £30

Rocks Off’s second entry on this list is a versatile vibe that can work well for the clit or the G-spot. The Chaiamo is either a large bullet or a smallish internal vibe, depending on which way you look at it. Either way, it packs a power punch and is pleasantly rumbly.

[Toy Review] Lovehoney Glow-in-the-Dark Dildo

Here we are, already half way through the #12DaysofLovehoney project! It’s been super fun bringing a mixed bag of reviews to you lovely folks over the last few days, and I’m excited for the next six. I’m also in the process of setting up reviews for 2021, which is already looking super exciting. Subscribe to my newsletter to make sure you don’t miss any updates!

Let’s dive into today’s review. Check out the rest of the series, too!

A glow-in-the-dark dildo? Why!?

Why not, that’s why.

That’s right – today, we’re looking at Lovehoney’s new glow-in-the-dark dildo! (Described in the product copy as a “dazzling disco stick,” which I find hilariously charming.)

It’s a clear silicone dildo with strip of blue glow-in-the-dark material inside (it also comes in pink, if that’s more your colour.) It is semi-realistic in design, with a veined shaft, prominent head that mimics a circumcised bio cock, and balls at the base. The total length is 7.5″, the insertable length is 5.5″, and the shaft is 1.5″ in diameter.

It is, unusually, made with a translucent silicone. At first glance, it looks a bit like some of the jelly toys I’ve seen over the years, so I wanted to be sure it was really silicone. Don’t worry – it definitely is. That means the glow-in-the-dark dildo is completely body-safe and you can use it with confidence.

The Lovehoney glow-in-the-dark dildo

The glow-in-the-dark dildo features a suction cup, so you can stick it to the wall/floor/window/shower for hands-free play. The suction cup is impressively strong and stays put very well. This dildo will also fit nicely in many strap-on harnesses (you’ll need a 1.5″ O-ring.) Thanks to the balls and suction cup base, it’s even safe for anal play. (Never use anything anally that doesn’t have a large or flared base!)

Does it actually glow?

Yep!

Don’t ask me how, because I do not understand the science behind glow-in-the-dark things. But yes, it does, and it’s impressively bright. The instructions say to keep the dildo in the light for a short while before taking it into a dark space. I sat it next to my daylight lamp for 15 minutes, before taking it into my darkened bedroom to see the glow.

Here’s the result:

The Lovehoney glow-in-the-dark dildo
It is very difficult to get a good picture of something in the dark!

How does it feel?

The glowing is a fun touch and makes this toy a bit different from all the millions of other great silicone dildos out there. But does it actually do its job?

Fortunately, the glow-in-the-dark dildo isn’t all gimmick and no substance. It is also perfectly functional basic dildo that’s fun and pleasurable to use. The shaft is very flexible, making it easy to angle it just right to hit your preferred internal spots. It’s soft, squishy, and not too girthy. If I’m just after some penetration to accompany clitoral stimulation or warm me up for p-in-v sex, it’s perfect.

The Lovehoney glow-in-the-dark dildo

Some reviewers have reported finding the veins pleasurable, but the inside of my vagina isn’t really sensitive enough to notice them. What does feel great is the pronounced, realistic head, which is ideal for targeting the G-spot.

Bonus: the balls make a convenient handle for thrusting purposes!

One thing to be aware of is that the silicone is very matte in texture and therefore feels quite “grabby”. You’ll want to use plenty of lube for comfortable play. A gentle water-based lube is ideal with silicone toys.

So do I recommend the glow-in-the-dark dildo?

This is a decent quality silicone dildo at a great price! It retails for £29.99 at Lovehoney. If you’re after a functional all-rounder, the glow-in-the-dark dildo is a great pick. Even better if you like a little fun and whimsy your toys!

A cute way to bring some glow to your bedroom, or a fun stocking stuffer for a lover.

[Toy Review] Pillow Talk Sassy

There are a few sex toys that have been on my “want to review” list forever. The Pillow Talk Sassy was one such product, after seeing sex bloggers I respect immensely (including Epiphora) raving about it.

So I was thrilled when the lovely folks at Self & More – a boutique, women-owned sex shop based in London – reached out to offer me the Sassy for review. Shall we dive in and find out what I thought?

(Pssst. There’s also a discount code for you at the bottom of this review, so keep reading!)

Pillow Talk Sassy: First Impressions

One of the things that immediately drew me to the Sassy was the gorgeous colour. It’s a lovely mint green, which is probably my favourite colour apart from purple! This is a relatively unusual colour for a sex toy, and it stands out amidst a sea of pink and other more common colours. (The Sassy does also come in pink, if that’s your thing.)

The Pillow Talk Sassy’s button features a sparkly Swarovski crystal, which is entirely unnecessary but also pleasingly extra to a #Sparklefemme such as myself.

The Sassy came attractively packaged in a white, clear front box. Included with the toy, there was a charging cable, a satin storage pouch, and – this is really cool – a little cleaning brush to help you clean in those tricky grooves and ridges.

The Pillow Talk Sassy in its white, clear front box

Facts & Figures

The Pillow Talk Sassy is 7.5″ long, with 5″ of insertable length, and the diameter is 1.5″ at the widest post. It is splashproof (not fully waterproof) and USB rechargeable. The advertised charge time is 2.5 hours; in reality, I got around 2 on full power.

The Sassy has a pronounced curve and bulbous head. It is made of 100% silky-smooth, body-safe silicone.

The Pillow Talk Sassy G-spot vibrator on a desk

As ever, water-based lube is your friend and will make your experience more pleasurable.

Simple one-button interface

The Pillow Talk Sassy has an unusual control system. It runs on a one-button interface and the button is large, intuitively located on the base of the shaft, and easy to press.

Button end of the Pillow Talk Sassy G-spot vibrator and clitoral vibrator

Here’s where things get unusual: once you’ve turned your toy on (via a quick press of the button,) you turn up the intensity by holding down the button. The power increases smoothly until you release the button. To give you an idea of how many intensity levels the Sassy offers, it took nine seconds to get to full power once switched on.

Another quick press switches the toy off. There are no patterns or any of that sillyness – just good, straightforward vibrations.

The Pillow Talk Sassy features a travel lock. Just press the button three times in quick succession to activate the travel lock, and then do the same again to release it. Useful if you don’t want your bag to start vibrating unexpectedly at the airport (remember those?)

In Use

Anyone who has read my work for a while will know that I have a thing for taking G-spot vibrations and repurposing them as clitoral vibes. The reason is simple: my G-spot doesn’t like being vibrated!

Fortunately, the Sassy is also a brilliant clitoral vibrator. It provides deep, rumbly vibration at all power levels, and the Powerbullet motor packs an impressive punch.

Pillow Talk Sassy clitoral vibrator and G-spot vibrator lying on a blanket

I absolutely love the shape of the Pillow Talk Sassy. It’s easy to hold and angle the tip against my clit. Though I’m not a fan of internal vibrations, I thought it might be fun to repurpose as a dildo. And oh my, yes, this little gem delivered! Its curve is ideal for reaching the right spot and getting that gorgeous “come hither” motion going. Honestly, I really want to have a partner fuck me with this while I use a bullet vibe on my clit.

The Sassy’s shaft is somewhat flexible, so that’s something to bear in mind if you prefer very rigid toys or intense G-spot pressure. I found the gentle flex made the experience more comfortable and fun.

The Sassy’s noise level is about what you’d expect for a toy at this level of power. Not silent by any stretch, but not likely to wake the neighbours, either!

Final Thoughts

The Pillow Talk Sassy is an awesome all-rounder. It takes a simple premise – a powerful, rumbly vibrator with a curve just made for G-spot pleasure – and it does it damn well. It is also pleasingly pretty – who says you can’t have beauty and function in one awesome package? The Sassy is shockingly well priced at £45, and of much higher quality than many toys that are two or three times the price.

Excellent on all scores. It’s earned a place in the coveted Easy Access Basket where all my favourite toys live!

Go get one. Your bits will thank you.

[Toy Review] Lovehoney Super Soft Silicone Galaxy Dildo

As your favourite neighbourhood #Sparklefemme, you will be unsurprised to know that I love things that are shiny and glittery. And that definely extends to sex toys. So there was no way I was going to be able to resist Lovehoney’s new Galaxy Dildo!

Reach for the stars…

Lovehoney’s new Super Soft Galaxy Dildo is a body-safe, 100% silicone dildo. It is 7 inches in total length, around 6 of which are insertable. Its diameter is a relatively slimline 1.4 inches, and it has a suction cup base.

Image of the Lovehoney Galaxy Dildo

The shape of the Galaxy Dildo can best be described as “semi realistic”. It has a smooth shaft, and then a bulbous head reminiscent of a circumcised bio cock.

Since it has no motor, the Galaxy Dildo is submersible and safe to use in water. You can use the boil sterilise method to clean it thoroughly.

I have to say that this is one of the prettiest dildos in my entire collection. The swirly pink/purple/navy silicone and silver glitter makes it look like a starry nebula and it’s truly gorgeous. Due to the nature of silicone pouring, every Galaxy Dildo will be slightly different.

How did it fare in use?

The size and shape of the Galaxy Dildo worked well for me. It’s a nice length and not too girthy (which is sometimes painful). The shaft has a very gentle natural curve. Since the toy is pretty flexible, you can bend it in whatever way works for your body.

Image of the Lovehoney Galaxy Dildo

The Galaxy Dildo’s pronounced head feels wonderful and provides amazing G-spot stimulation. The matte silicone is a little grabby, so remember to use plenty of water-based lube for a more comfortable experience.

This toy is ideal for strap-on play thanks to its large circular base. You’ll need a 1.75 inch diameter ring (which, helpfully, is one of the sizes included in both Lovehoney’s strap-on kit and the Sportsheets set of 4 spare O-rings). You can also use the Galaxy Dildo anally, if that’s your jam, since the flared base makes it anal safe.

Finally, let’s talk about that suction cup! It is, let me be clear, absurdly strong (‘ve been sitting here trying to peel it off my desk while writing!) So if you want a toy you can stick to the wall/floor/bathtub/window (hey, no judgement) for hands-free fun, the Galaxy Dildo is a great choice.

Final thoughts

This is a really nice little toy! Many colourful, pretty silicone dildos are also really expensive, so it’s nice to see an affordable alternative. The Galaxy Dildo retails for a bargain £29.99.

Beautiful, versatile, feels great, and completely body-safe. A+ all round!

[Toy Review] Lovehoney Ignite Finger Vibrator

Last week, I gushed about how impressed I was with the basic, affordable Ignite Bullet Vibrator from Lovehoney’s new line. Today I’m bringing you another one from the Ignite range – a line of simple, no-frills toys that all retail for £29.99. Read on to learn what I thought of the Ignite Finger Vibrator.

Finger on the pulse…

The Lovehoney Ignite Finger Vibrator is a tiny little toy, barely 3 inches in length. You wear it on your finger like a ring. It’s shaped like a teardrop, and tapers to a soft point.

The Lovehoney Ignite Finger Vibrator on my hand

The Ignite Finger Vibrator is fully waterproof, USB rechargeable, and has a travel lock. It also comes with a little drawstring storage bag. On the surface at least, impressive features for a £29.99 toy.

It’s made of the same body-safe, phthalate-free silicone as everything in the range. Too many manufacturers compromise on safety when making entry-level toys – which, needless to say, I am NOT here for. So it’s nice to see companies normalizing body-safe materials as a minimum standard even for their basic ranges.

As ever, a good quality water-based lube will enhance your experience!

Usability

Because this toy is so tiny and light, it could work well for people who find it difficult to manipulate larger or heavier toys. And because it’s worn on the finger, you don’t even have to hold it in place. The small size makes it easy to fit between bodies for clitoral stimulation during penetrative sex, if that’s your jam.

The Ignite Finger Vibrator is definitely made for people with small hands! I have smaller than average hands, and it’s very snug on my index, middle and ring fingers. People with larger hands or thicker fingers will likely find this toy either uncomfortable or just impossible to use.

The Lovehoney Ignite Finger Vibrator

The button placement is also weird. It’s a single-button interface, and the button is on the base of the toy. This means that whichever finger you wear it on, you have to curl your thumb under at an awkward angle to change the setting or turn the toy on and off. It would have made much more sense to place the button on the front of the toy, where the charging port and Lovehoney insignia are.

Power & patterns

The Ignite Finger Vibrator features the same 20 settings (3 constant speeds and 17 patterns) as the rest of the products in the range. I personally think 20 settings is a bit excessive, especially for a toy with a one-button interface (hello endless scrolling to find the one you like!) But I can forgive it because these are entry-level toys, and having lots of settings to try is a good way to find out what you like.

The Lovehoney Ignite Finger Vibrator

The Ignite Finger Vibrator is… not a powerful toy. I’m not sure if it uses a different motor to the bullet (possible, as it’s a noticeably smaller toy) or if the problem is with motor placement. Either way, the Ignite Finger Vibrator’s vibrations are weak and buzzy to the point of numbing.

Some people enjoy gentler vibrations, and if that’s you then you might find this toy perfectly adequate for your needs. But if you’re looking for strong or rumbly vibrations, pass this one by.

Final thoughts: do I recommend it?

I thought I’d have more good things to say about this toy after I was so impressed with the bullet from the same range. Unfortunately, it was really quite disappointing.

Sadly, I can’t really recommend this toy. Its vibrations are too weak and buzzy, and I had to reach for a different toy mid-masturbation to finish the job. Couple that with the awkward button placement and

Even if you’re on a restricted budget or looking for a basic product, there are better toys you can get for your money.

[Toy Review] Womanizer Starlet

People often ask me which clitoral suction toy they should start with if they’ve never tried one before and aren’t sure if they will like it. Well, you could do a lot worse than the Womanizer Starlet!

Hey, did you know it’s Masturbation Month? I’m partnering with Lovehoney to bring you sexy content and reviews, of which this is one. Let’s dive in…

The Womanizer you know and love, but in miniature

The Womanizer Starlet is part of Womanizer’s range of PleasureAir stimulators. These toys stimulate the clitoris via gentle suction and rapid pulses of air. There are quite a number of toys in the Womanizer range at this point, but the Starlet (not to be confused with the Starlet 2) is by far the smallest.

The Womanizer Starlet Clitoral Stimulator

In fact, the Starlet is only 3.5 inches in total length. Yes, that’s the whole toy!

The Womanizer Starlet is USB rechargeable (cable included). You only get around 30 minutes’ run time on a full charge, so that will be a downside for those who like their masturbation sessions to last longer. This is a significantly shorter battery life than other toys in the range. It is also splashproof, rather than waterproof.

Finally, the Starlet has only 4 speed settings (some Womanizer products have as many as 12, plus separate vibrating functions.)

In other words, the Womanizer Starlet is a pared-down and simplified version of the company’s signature toy in more ways than just size.

But how did it measure up in use?

Smaller in size, no less satisfying!

I was enamoured with the Womanizer Starlet straight away. The beauty of this pared-down version is it just fulfils its purpose, and does it well, without any gimmicks or unnecessary extras.

The Womanizer Starlet Clitoral Stimulator

The four power settings are more than enough to provide a good range of sensation, and the highest setting is no less powerful than that of the higher-priced Womanizer toys. I actually appreciated only having 4 settings to scroll through to find the one I liked, rather than having to click through 8 or 10 or 12. Toy manufacturers take note: more isn’t always better!

I got off quickly and easily with the Womanizer Starlet. There’s a reason these products are so popular – they feel amazing. (They do not, however, feel like oral sex and I will die on this hill.) This little beauty gives me clutching-at-the-sheets, trying-not-to-wake-the-neighbours orgasms.

User-friendly and intuitive

The Starlet is, perhaps unsurprisingly, very light. This makes it accessible for those who struggle to hold or manipulate heavier or bulkier toys. I found it comfortable to hold in my smaller-than-average hand.

It’s also well shaped – the suction nozzle sticks out far enough from the main body of the toy that it’s easy to angle and hold in place. This is a big deal as too many suction toys are really poorly designed in this regard, meaning you need to hold them really awkwardly to get them to properly make contact with the clit.

The Womanizer Starlet Clitoral Stimulator

The Starlet’s single button interface, located at the base of the body, couldn’t be simpler to use. The button is easy to press, and large enough to feel for and push with your fingers without needing to look. I’m not even going to complain about the lack of up and down controls. Honestly with just four settings they’re not necessary.

Care and Safety

The Womanizer Starlet, like all products in the Womanizer range, features a silicone nozzle. The body is hard ABS plastic, making the entire toy completely body-safe.

As this toy is not waterproof, you cannot submerge it to clean it. However, the nozzle is removable so you can sterilise that separately in a 10% bleach solution or by boiling. You can also buy spare nozzles, which is useful if you want to share the toy with a partner.

As always. water-based lube is recommended. Pro tip: add lube to both the rim of the nozzle and directly to your clit before play.

So do I recommend it?

Small but mightly, I was really impressed with the Womanizer Starlet. Retailing for £69.99, it’s one of the most affordable entries to suction toys – perfect if you’re on a budget or just want to see if you even like the sensation!

It’s easy, intuitive and comfortable to use. I found the pleasure and sensations every bit as satisfying as those provided by much larger and more expensive models. In fact, the only complaint I can find is the less than stellar battery life.
