[Accessories Review] Tyes By Tara Vixen Tyecuffs

[Update 10/05/24: this product has been discontinued. I have removed dead links but left the post up for reference.]

Tyes By Tara is a small, woman-founded and award-winning brand based in the US, and their entire collection is a dream for a kinky femme like myself. Elegant and eyecatching pieces that are by turns playful and sensual? Hell yes!

A Touch of Luxury

Vixen Tyecuffs soft bondage handcuffs

My Tyes By Tara items came discreetly packaged in a plain box. Inside, they were beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and tied with ribbon. The parcel included not just my cuffs, but also a card with care instructions, a kind note from my contact at the company, and even a bonus free tyelet!

The customer care and attention to detail is excellent and much appreciated. The luxurious packaging and presentation got me even more excited to try out the products.

Vixen Tyecuffs: Bondage with a Femme Focus

I was spoiled for choice when it came to what to try. But, being the #Sparklefemme that I am, I had to settle on the sparkly Vixen Tyecuffs. These wide cuffs are made from sparkly rhinestone mesh and finished with satin ribbon ties.

Rhinestone handcuffs for BDSM

The Vixen Tyecuffs are available in both black and white.

I can’t tell you how much I love these cuffs! They’re just absolutely gorgeous, even prettier than they look on the website. I love the way the rhinestones catch the light when I move.

Woman with hands tied up in bondage cuffs

There are some items that make me feel happy and confident just by wearing them, and these cuffs fall into that category. They speak to two aspects of my identity that are hugely important to me: my femme-ness and my submissiveness.

The Vixen Tyecuffs are comfortable, too. They’re light enough that I can put them on and then wear them for hours. They don’t irritate my skin or make my wrists sweaty. When we can finally go to sex clubs again (fuck you Covid) they’ll make a sleek and sexy addition to my outfits.

Fit and Functionality

My Vixen Tyecuffs came with very very long ribbons. Even with the cuffs tied, they still dragged on the floor when I was standing! Fortunately, the very long ribbons mean the cuffs will fit literally anyone, no matter your wrist size (they also work just as well on ankles!)

Vixen Tyecuffs rhinestone BDSM handcuffs

Just pop the cuffs on, work out how long you need the ribbons and how long you want the tails to be, then trim them to size. Don’t forget to allow extra length if you’re going to tie them to anything!

The Vixen Tyecuffs are strong and sturdily made. Despite their delicate appearance, they don’t feel as though they are flimsy or liable to break in the course of normal use.

Ribbon handcuffs for kink and BDSM

With that said, these are definitely cuffs that are for decoration and light bondage. You could certainly get tied to the bed or get your hands tied behind your back with the Vixen Tyecuffs. But they’re not designed to bear a lot of weight, so don’t use them for kinky activities where you’re putting weight on your wrists. And maybe switch out for more traditional cuffs if you’re doing a harder struggling-against-your-bonds scene!

Bonus Tyelet

I also received a bonus Tye-of-the-Month in the form of the Trainwreck Tyelet (since discontinued.) This is a lovely little bracelet that is made of soft, stretchy elastic and features a cute black satin bow. It’s like wearing a little bow tie on my wrist!

Tyelet bow tie bracelet

The aesthetic is subtle enough to wear in public without raising eyebrows, but kinky enough to make me smile mischievously every time I look at it.

It’s actually very slightly too big for me, as I have teeny-tiny wrists, but it doesn’t need to fit snugly and still looks super cute.

Verdict & Discount Code

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Absolutely love them!

The Vixen Tyecuffs retail for a great value $25 (that’s around £21.)

If you’re looking for a sweet and sexy treat for yourself or the femme in your life, take a look at the collection. I’m sure you’ll find something you love.

Thanks to Tyes By Tara for sending me the Vixen Tyecuffs and the Trainwreck Tyelet to try. All views are mine.

[Lingerie Review] Lovehoney Fierce Lace-Up Bra Set

I was so excited about this one that I’ve bumped it up the review queue! I’m very into Lovehoney’s Fierce range and honestly would probably buy one of everything if I could. So it was lovely to receive this set to review for you guys. Let’s take a look.

Lovehoney Fierce Lace-Up Bra Set

The Fierce Lace-Up Bra Set is part of Lovehoney’s Fierce range, a collection of fetish-inspired, wet-look and faux leather pieces. This two-piece set is made up of a bra and… knickers? Shorts? Kinda a halfway house? I’m gonna go with “knickers” for ease of writing.

The set is made of black faux-leather, which is a polyester/elastane mix. Bonus: the gusset on the knickers is cotton-lined, which is healthier for your bits!

The butt, cleavage, and two cut-out sections on the knickers have lace-up detailing with metal eyelets. The bra ties up in a halter-neck style.

Here it is on Lovehoney’s gorgeous model:

First impressions

I loved this set as soon as I took it out of the packaging. I love the look and feel of leather, but have ethical qualms about it as a vegetarian. So, while not 100% convincing – at least close up – this is a decent alternative.

The combo of the shiny black fabric and lacing is just extremely sexy. I wanted to put it on straight away!

Fit & Comfort

Ahh – no wires! I make no secret of the fact that I think wired bras are the fucking devil and absolutely will not wear them if I can possibly help it. Fortunately, the Fierce Lace-Up Bra Set is completely wire-free.

As sexy lingerie goes, this set is shockingly comfortable to wear. The fabric feels nice against the skin, and the stretchy elastic waist and underbust bands mean nothing is digging in or pinching.

The Fierce Lace-Up Bra Set comes in small, medium, and large sizes, and there’s a handy sizing chart on the product page. It’s also available in an equally sexy plus size version. As the elastic is stretchyy and the bra has 3 clasp options and a halterneck, it’s somewhat adjustable in terms of sizing.

I’m a size 14 and the large fits me comfortably. Some reviewers noted that the knickers were on the small side, so if in doubt consider going up a size.

So for the moment of truth: did it contain my boobs?

The answer to that is… kind of. They did mostly fit into the cups and stayed put, particularly when I tied the halterneck quite tight to give them a little extra lift. But I did get a little bit of nipple slippage at the front. If this is something you don’t want, go up a size if you’re well endowed in the chest department.

Look & Feel

This set is VERY my style. The feminine silhouette with a kinky edge just speaks very much to my personal aesthetic goals.

Lovehoney describe it as a “Dominatrix-inspired look,” but I think that’s only one possible interpretation. The open panels and easy access through the lacing and crotchless knickers speaks to vulnerability to me, which helps me tap into my submissive headspace when I’m wearing it.

The laced up detailing really makes this set for me. It’s just the right level of showing off my body while leaving enough to the imagination to tease a lover and make them want more.

Care & cleaning

The Fierce Lace-Up Bra Set is hand-wash only. Use cold water and gentle detergent if necessary. Dry it on the washing line, and don’t iron it.

Final thoughts

Oh yes, this one did not disappoint!

The Fierce collection was created with actual kinksters in mind, and it shows.

Bonus: it’s so easy to take on and off that you can wear it to the dungeon[1], slip out of it for playtime, then pop it back on in seconds.

This set retails for an affordable £34.99 ($42.99 US). Far below the price tag of real leather!

[Lingerie Review] Lovehoney Brand X A Rider Zip-Up Bra Set

[Update 11/03/24: this set and range have been discontinued but I have left the post up for reference.]

It’s rare I find a piece of sexy lingerie I could describe as “reasonably comfy, actually.” It’s also rare I find a piece of sexy lingerie that actually contains my boobs. Finding both of these things in one item? Well, that’s a rarely-seen miracle! The A Rider Zip-Up Bra Set, from Lovehoney’s new Brand X collection, is one such piece.

X Marks the Spot

Brand X is a new line of lingerie and fetishwear from Lovehoney, designed by a team of professional Dominatrixes. The range features 24 lines in a mixture of standard and plus sizes, from harnesses to dresses to body-stockings and more. Everything in the range is black, and made from a combination of wet-look PVC and fishnet.

The A Rider Zip-Up Bra Set from Lovehoneys Brand X range

I received the A Rider Zip-Up Bra Set. This two-piece set contains a longline bra which zips up at the front, and a hair of high-waisted knickers with zip running all the way around.

First Impressions

I loved this set from the moment I took it out of the packaging. The fetish-inspired design and fishnet decoration is just so my style. I’m actually completely in love with this whole range and might need to see if I can get my hands on some more pieces to review for you guys.

The other thing I thought when I opened up this set was “holy shit, my boobs might actually fit in that!”

Read on to find out what I thought when I actually put it on…

Comfort and Fit

Fetishwear is not often associated with comfort, and for good reason. Sky-high heels, stomach-sucking corsets and boob-sculpting underwires are hardly the epitome of cosy.

So I was delightfully surprised by how comtortable the A Rider Zip-Up Bra Set is. The wide elasticated bands and stretchy fabric means it sits comfortably and clings to your body like a glove. As there are no wires or boning, there’s nothing digging in painfully or contorting your body into uncomfortable shapes.

I also really love the easy-on nature of this set. I didn’t even have to unzip anything – I could just pull it on, adjust it into place, and go. This means I’d be likely to wear this set to a date or event where I was planning to play. It’s super easy to take off if necessary for playtime, and then put back on afterwards.

Similarly, the fact that the bra closes at the front is likely to make it more accessible and friendly to those who cannot manage back-fastening garments by themselves. No fiddling with clasps – just zip and go!

The fit, in my experience, is true to size. I wear a size 14 and received the L/XL set, which is recommended for sizes 14-16. It fits pretty much perfectly and, because it has some stretch, accommodates for a range of the bodies that sit within those clothing sizes. The S/M will fit a size 10-12, while the plus size versions cover sizes 18-24.

Finally, joy of joys, my boobs actually fit! I so often find I’m falling out of lingerie that is ostensibly my size, that finding something I don’t have to adjust every 15 seconds is a small miracle.

Aesthetics

I feel sexy as fuck when I wear my A Rider Zip-Up Bra Set! I think the idea is that the style is meant to say “Dominatrix,” but you all know that’s a thing I am definitely not. I’m pretty close to exclusively submissive these days. And actually, wearing kinktastic lingerie that makes me feel really sexy helps me tap into that headspace. (See also: the Catsuit of Joy.)

I feel like this set really flatters my curves – by which I do not mean minimises them, but flaunts them unapologetically. The band of the longline bra hits in just the right place to show off the curve of my waist, and the high waisted knickers show off my full hips and my finest feature of all – my fabulous butt.

I especially love the cut out section between the top of the main bra cups and the decorative fishnet panels and straps. Something about this hint of skin, when the rest of the breasts are thoroughly covered, is just unspeakably sexy to me.

The zips also add an extra sizzle of sexiness and potential. You can unzip just a little bit to tease your lover, or they can tie you up and then unzip you…

So do I recommend it?

Oh my goodness, Lovehoney have knocked it out of the park with Brand X! I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that a team of kinksters would know how to design wonderful fetishwear.

Brand X is sexy as fuck, comfortable enough to actually play in, and will look fabulous on a wide range of bodies.

The A Rider Zip-Up Bra Set retails for a very reasonable £34.99/$42.99. Other pieces in the Brand X range retail from £19.99 up to £39.99.

Thanks to Lovehoney for sending me this set in exchange for an honest review. I’m partnering with them throughout Masturbation Month to bring you sexy content and product reviews! This post features affiliate links. All views, as always, are mine.

[Accessories Review] Bondage Boutique Rainbow Leather Harness with Collar

[Update 30/01/20: this harness has been discontinued,. I’ve removed the dead links but I’m leaving this post up for reference.]

Happy Pride, friends!

Today is Pride in London. I am, sadly, not there. Aforementioned health issues, plus lack of spoons for travel and huge crowds, means I’ve sat this one out this year. However, in the spirit of celebrating a little bit at home, Pride day felt like the appropriate time to share my review of this rainbow-themed piece with you all.

Whether you’re celebrating in the Capital today or not, I hope you’ve all had a very happy Pride.

Boutique Bondage Gear…

Bondage Boutique is Lovehoney’s in-house range of kink and BDSM gear. With pieces ranging from cuffs to wax play candles, from nipple clamps to rope, they’re a great place to find affordable and entry-level kinky things. In honour of Pride season, they’ve recently added a line of rainbow themed items, one of which I was only too happy to try out!

Rainbows, Leather and Kink: A Few of My Favourite Things

The Bondage Boutique pride rainbow harness laid out on a white sheet

The Bondage Boutique Rainbow and Leather Harness with Collar is a really versatile kinky piece. It’s a unisex design, suitable for any type of body. The aesthetic is fairly androgynous, too, neither particularly femme or particularly masculine. You could totally femme or masc it up depending on what you wore it with!

Perhaps pair it with killer heels and cute stockings… or with some sexy as fuck leather trousers? Or even just throw it on over a t-shirt to add some public-safe queer joy to your Pride ensemble! I love the little rainbow panels, which give an otherwise fairly standard bondage piece a fun and playful edge.

The Bondage Boutique rainbow pride harness laid out on a white sheet

This harness also features two D-rings, one in the front centre of the collar and one in the front centre of the waist band. This means it’s practical for play as well as decorative. You could clip a leash to the collar, use the lower D-ring to tie off a crotch rope, or cuff your submissive’s hands to the harness to restrict their movement.

Materials & Care

This harness is made of real leather. For some this will be a huge advantage, and for others such as vegetarians or vegans it may be a serious downside. I personally love leather (even though I’m a vegetarian – yes, I know, I’m a hypocrite!) The softness, the smell and the undeniable associations of real leather all really do it for me. Leather is also exceptionally durable, and tends to get softer and more supple over time.

The small rainbow panels are stitched over the leather. The fastenings are made of metal.

Care for this harness the way you would with any other leather item. Cleaning after every wear isn’t typically necessary, but clean it occasionally with a special product designed for leather – many leather enthusiasts recommend saddle soap. If it needs a bit of extra shine, use a little gentle leather polish plenty of time before you next want to wear it. (Or have your sub do so – a fun service play task, perhaps?) Store your harness unfastened and as flat as you can. Don’t store or transport it with anything that could scratch the leather.

Remember that leather is a porous material and will therefore absorb traces of sweat, your skin’s natural oils, and any other bodily fluids it comes into contact with – including blood and sexual fluids.

Harness Fit

This harness is adjustable in three places for a versatile and customisable fit. The adjustable parts are the collar, the waist belt, and the strap that runs down the centre of the chest.

Lovehoney’s site conveniently lists the measurement ranges, so you can check this piece will fit you before buying. The collar fits a neck circumference of 13.5 – 18 inches, the waist belt ranges from 26 to 34 inches, and the connecting strap can be anything from 5.5 to 10 inches in length.

I currently have a 34 inch waist (UK size 14) and found this harness comfortable on the loosest setting. As a short person, I really appreciated being able to shorten the connecting strap too.

Unfortunately, this harness does not currently come in a Plus Size version. Please consider making one, Lovehoney pals!

So do I recommend it?

I love this harness! It’s super cute, relatively comfy, and pretty affordable. I’m always recommending Bondage Boutique to kink newbies, but wherever you are on your journey, grab this piece if you want to add a little rainbow sparkle to your kinky life.

The Bondage Boutique Rainbow and Leather Harness with Collar retails for £39.99.

[Accessories Review] Bijoux Indiscrets Maze Cat Ears Headpiece

Chances are, if you’ve met me in meat-space, you’ve also met The Signature Ears. That is, the various cat ear headbands I wear as often as possible in sex-positive spaces. They’re a big part of how I present myself as Amy, they’re super memorable, and I love them. So I was thrilled when Bijoux Indiscrets, who sponsored Eroticon this year , approached me before the ‘Con and asked if I’d like to try one of their new Maze cat ears headpieces.

Why yes, yes I would!

Feline Good…

BIjoux Indiscrets Maze cat ears headpiece on my desk.

MAZE is an amazing collection of faux-leather accessories from Bijoux Indiscrets. The line includes cuffs, harnesses, collars and more. Most of the pieces are available in both black and brown. The aesthetic is bondage-inspired and focused on sensuality, power and blending “current fashion with traditional eroticism”. Thing strong lines, minimal adornments and kinky elegance. Though they’re showed being modeled by feminine folks, I see no reason why this stuff wouldn’t also look amazing on more masculine bodies.

As a vegetarian, I often feel a bit hypocritical in my love of leather and I have a complex relationship with it. So imagine my delight at learning that everything in Bijoux’s “leather” range is made of polyurethane from recycled materials. Environmentally friendly AND 100% vegan approved. Whoever said that looking gorgeous couldn’t be ethical and cruelty-free?

Maze pieces range from £25 to £90 in price. These ears retail for £40 from Bijoux directly, and are currently available at Shevibe for £33.25 (about $45). They’re luxury pieces and come with luxury price-tags. However, they’re beautifully made from quality materials and this company has stellar customer service reviews.

The Cat’s Whiskers…

Bijoux Indiscrets Maze cat ears headpiece lying on an open lined notebook.

The Maze cat ears headpiece is available in both black and brown. I’m definitely a black cat, though, so that’s the colour I went for. It’s fully adjustable at the head. With a maximum circumference of 24.4 inches (minimum 21.25), this piece will fit the vast majority of adults just fine. There’s even space to add an extra hole if required, making it even more customisable to fit you perfectly.

I found the ears easy to adjust and super comfortable once they were in place. They were also nice and secure, so no risk of them falling off – which is important in any product, but especially one that you might pay £40 for!

Me-OW!

I honestly felt so fucking sexy in these ears. I paired them with my favourite catsuit from Latex Leather & Lace and high boots for the Eroticon Saturday night social and… let’s just say, heads were turning.

Was it over the top and ridiculous? Yes. Did I feel sexier and more powerful than pretty much ever in my life before? Also yes.

“They make you look hella kissable!” – anon. pretty girl.

Surprisingly, perhaps, I haven’t done very much kitten play or pet play of any kind. (I’m curious, though). But if that’s your jam, these ears could be the ideal piece to help you transform into the gorgeous sex-kitten you want to be.

CAT-egorically Recommended

(Sorry – the puns can’t all be great, okay!?)

I’m simply in love with these ears and this whole range! If you’re looking for a sexy, bondage-inspired aesthetic, you can’t go wrong with Maze.

Thanks to Bijoux Indiscrets for sending me these ears in exchange for an honest review! All views are, as ever, my own. If you get your own, please consider buying using my affiliate link above in order to send a small commission my way.

Bringing Extra Sexy Into Your Life with Lingerie

[Update 31.12.2019: Twisted Lingerie, the sponsors of this post, has now closed down. I have removed the broken links but left this piece up for informational purposes.]

As regular readers of the blog will know, I’m a pretty recent lingerie convert. Being a shortish, curvy girl who does NOT in any way resemble a Victoria’s Secret model, and has a general aversion to things like frills and excessive lace, I’d kinda decided it wasn’t for me. I was convinced otherwise when I was gifted a beautiful piece to review and realised I looked, and felt, like an absolute babe in it.

Valentine’s Day is coming up – the time for bringing out those basques, those little slips of latex and lace, to seduce your lover. But apart from the obvious (“wear it to bed and fuck your partner’s brains out”), how can you use lingerie to add a little extra sizzle of sexiness to your life?

Wear it under your work clothes.

If, like me, you’re a “practical undies” type of person the majority of the time, try wearing something really naughty under your work clothes one day. No-one else will know, but you’ll have an extra bounce in your step all day as you feel the sumptuous fabrics against your skin.

Pro tip: do this the day of a big meeting or presentation. You’ll stand taller and speak more confidently because you’ll be feeling gorgeous. Who says “power dressing” can’t be sexy?

Go shopping with your partner.A thin white woman in the Xenia Boudoir Set, a black mesh babydoll with a strap bra.

Whether this is a trip to your local lingerie store, or sitting at the computer together and lusting over sexy pieces like Twisted Lingerie’s stunning bondage-themed collection, make shopping for lingerie (for one or both of you!) a fun date activity with your partner. Whether you buy anything or not is up to you, but trying pieces on – or just imagining your lover in that fabulous bra or babydoll – is bound to get some lusty feelings flowing.

Dress out of your comfort zone.

Stepping out of our comfort zones can be an empowering and enlightening experience. This includes how we dress and what we think of as our aesthetic. Case in point: I didn’t think fancy lacey lingerie was my thing at all… until I tried it.

If you’re on the more femme end of the spectrum, try wearing something masculine-of-centre for a change, and vice-versa. If you normally go for frills, try something with harder lines or a more minimalist style. Pick out a colour or a pattern or a style you’d never typically wear. You might be surprised at how babely you feel!

A thin white woman in the Xenia Goddess set, an elaborate black strap and mesh lingerie set.Wear it while you masturbate.

This might sound a bit goofy, but stick with me. Masturbation is sex with your longest and most enduring sexual partner: yourself. If you’d dress up for a night in with a partner, why not occasionally dress up for a night in with yourself (and your favourite vibrator, if that’s your jam)? Feeling attractive and hot, even if no-one else is going to see it, is one of the ways I tap into my erotic energy. Looking in the mirror and going “yes, I would” makes me want to, well… do all kinds of things to my sexy self.

Take a hot selfie…

…or ten. There’s nothing like a sexy selfie to make you feel like an absolute babe. You don’t have to share it with anyone (though you can, if you like! Send it to a partner or even upload it to your blog, Instagram, Tumblr or Fetlife if you’re feeling daring). But just the act of putting on some beautiful lingerie, playing with lighting and filters and angles to get the perfect shot and then admiring the pics, will remind you what a gorgeous creature you are.

Tweet me: how do you bring extra sexiness into your life with lingerie?

[Fetishwear Review] Oscuro Black Stretch PVC Catsuit

[Update 01/11/23: this product has been discontinued. I have removed dead links and left this post up for information.]

I have very little body confidence, and I am also a #LazyFemme. Hardly the target demographic for a skin-tight, everything-on-display catsuit! Even so, for some reason, when I saw this baby at the Latex, Leather and Lace opening I just went “oooh, yes, want!” Because they are supremely lovely, and I know how to flutter my eyelashes, the lovely

I slipped out of my jeans and into the catsuit in the swanky new changing room, and I don’t think I have ever gone from “casual, slightly scruffy” to “holy shit I am hot” so quickly in my entire life. It did help, of course, that when I emerged from the changing room, at least three women had to pick their jaws up off the floor at how fabulous this thing makes my tits look. (My boobs are already like a 12/10, not gonna lie, but they get at least 50% more fabulous when encased in skintight PVC.)

With a high collared neck and long sleeves, this suit is made from 4-way stretch PVC, and therefore is super comfy to wear. Zips in strategic places make it easy to loosen or tighten where you like, as well as allowing for essential things like peeing or getting fucked without taking the whole suit off! It comes in sizes from Small (UK 10) to 2XL (UK 18.)

My Ratings (all scores out of 5★)

Price: ★★★★
The Oscuro catsuit retails at £64.99 from Latex, Leather and Lace. It’s definitely not a cheap item, but is a good reasonable option for someone who wants a catsuit but doesn’t want to pay the much higher pricetag for latex or leather.

Appearance: ★★★★★
Mmmmffff. Yessssss. I love how this thing looks, and how I look in it. It’s sexy as hell. I like pairing it with some killer black heeled boots for instant Dominatrix vibes, or with my kitty ears and a tail or more of a submissive kitten look.

Materials: ★★★★
It’s made of 4 way stretch PVC with a lycra backing. This makes it super comfy – it hugs your curves but also allows for relatively free and unrestricted movement. A great option for wearing all night. Though if you’re intending to dance or play or fuck the night away, be warned that it does get Extremely Hot after a while.

Fit: ★★★★
The sizes seem to run fairly true to whatever semblance of “standard sizing” we have for women’s clothing. I wear a 12 and the medium fits me really nicely. It’s a little tight over my 36DD boobs, but just on the edge between “epic cleavage” and “actually so tight it’s uncomfortable”- however, if you have a large bust you might want to try before buying or even consider going a size up. I’m about 5’5″ and have short legs relative to my torso, and the legs on this run quite long. Shorter folks or those with short legs: you’ll probably want to wear heels with this or you’ll be tripping over the ends.

Overall Score: ★★★★
A real winner. I love it! Can’t wait to wear it to the club. (And I’ve promised my friends Jo and Jess that it’ll make an appearance at Eroticon, too!)

Thanks to the lovely folks at Latex, Leather and Lace for giving me this product to review! All views are my own.
