[Toy Review] Pleasure Engine Rose Clit Sucker

One rose clit sucker had a viral moment a few years ago thanks, in large part, to TikTok. Some of those reviews were hilarious, and others made incredible claims about how many orgasms they had or how quickly they had them.

As you might know, I’m rather cynical about intense sex toy marketing claims. Even so, I thought it was time I brought you my take on another iteration of the famed rose clit sucker: The Rose by Pleasure Engine.

The Rose by Pleasure Engine

Pleasure Engine Rose clit sucker

The Rose by Pleasure Engine is one of many (many) pressure wave stimulators that look like a red rose currently on the market. It has an opening at the top that sits over your clit, creating a seal. Rapid air pulses then provide the stimulation, which some describe as a “sucking” feeling.

The Pleasure Engine Rose clit sucker is rechargeable, with a USB magnetic charging station included. I got about an hour of use out of a two-hour charge. It is small, measuring only 2.6″ in total length, and fits in the palm of my hand.

The Rose is made of body-safe silicone and is splashproof but not waterproof.

What I Liked About the Pleasure Engine Rose Clit Sucker

Fundamentally, these products are so popular because they work incredibly well for a lot of people. The Pleasure Engine Rose is no different; it gets me off with the kind of orgasm that leaves my legs shaking. Its pressure waves are perhaps not as smooth as those of some higher-end toys I’ve tried, but they still get the job done reliably every time.

The nozzle size of rose toys varies, and this one is on the smaller side. It works well for me because my clitoral glans (that’s the external bit) is also fairly small. If you have a larger clit, you might want to look at toys with a wider nozzle. The small size of this one’s nozzle allows it to closely engulf my clit and provide targeted, pinpoint stimulation.

I also think rose toys are popular because they’re aesthetically pleasing. The little silicone petals around the nozzle have no practical purpose, but they do look cute.

The Pleasure Engine Rose is super light, easy to hold, and not too loud.

Finally, this is more about the marketing than the toy itself, but I also have to give Pleasure Engine and Shevibe props for not claiming that this toy feels like cunnilingus. I’m so sick of the tendency to call suction toys “oral sex simulators.” They’re not. The technology does not exist yet to realistically mimic cunnilingus with a toy. Let’s move on.

Anything I Didn’t Like?

Overall, the Pleasure Engine Rose is a good toy, especially for its price-point. I’m just not sure we needed another of these. I do understand cashing in on viral trends, but almost every sex toy company I can think of that makes clitoral suction toys has now released its own version of the rose. And, a few small details notwithstanding, they’re all kinda sorta very much the same. Even many of the “related products” that show up when I view this one are virtually the same product only made by a different manufacturer.

I also kinda wish it was fully waterproof. This used to be a luxury feature only found on high-end toys, but it’s increasingly becoming standard. The Rose is splash-resistant, but not properly waterproof, so you can’t use it in the bath or submerge it to clean.

I would have preferred a two-button interface rather than a single button, too, as the Rose has 9 settings in total (3 speeds and 6 patterns).

Verdict

If you don’t already have a rose toy and are looking to try one (or have worn yours out and are looking for a replacement) this is as good a choice as any… and, bonus, not sold by Amazon. Please don’t buy sex toys on Amazon, I’m begging you. There is a very significant chance you’ll get a knock-off that may not be body-safe and may not even work.

The Pleasure Engine Rose clit sucker is body-safe, gets the job done, and is sold by a reputable company with a great reputation in the world of pleasure products. This toy retails for a very affordable £31/$39 from Shevibe.

[Toy Review] VibrAnimals Oh Deer Vibrator

Was a vibrator shaped like a deer something that any of us really needed to exist? I’m going with “nope.” Even so, exist it does, and this week I get to review it for you all thanks to my pals at Shevibe. Meet the VibrAnimals Oh Deer from Pleasure Engine. I think this review is going to be relatively short and sweet, but let’s see how it goes.

My job is fucking weird sometimes.

VibrAnimals Oh Deer: Details

The Oh Deer is one of four products in the new VibrAnimals range, which also includes a rabbit, a fox, and an elephant. It is a petite clitoral vibrator measuring 3.8″ in total length, of which around 1.2″ consists of the horns, and loosely shaped like a deer complete with a rounded body and pointed nose.

It is USB rechargeable and splashproof, but not waterproof. The entire toy is coated in body-safe and non-porous silicone in a light pink shade, with an ABS plastic base that allows it to stand up.

The Oh Deer has 10 inbuilt settings: 2 speeds and 8 patterns. Its user interface is a single button for all functions.

Things I Liked About This Toy

Despite me snarking about the unnecessary animal design, I actually do like the basic shape concept of this toy! The broad body, pointy nose, and light flexible antlers provide three distinct options for different kinds of clitoral stimulation, which is pretty impressive in such a small (and affordable) product.

I also like that it’s super petite and light. The Oh Deer is small enough to pop in your bag for a date or weekend away. It’s not too loud, either, so it is an overall discreet option if that’s important to you.

Things I Did Not Like About This Toy

I mean… it’s a deer. Just why? I do understand that cutesy toys that don’t immediately look like sex toys can be appealing to some users, particularly those who are new to toys or shy about purchasing/owning/using them. Personally, though, I’m much more likely to find them cringy than cute.

The main thing that lets this toy down, for me, is its motor. Unfortunately, like so many gimmicky and low-priced toys, its motor is extremely buzzy and not particularly strong. I realised after a short while of using it that it’s going to numb me out long before it’s ever going to get me off.

Verdict

I like this concept (not the deer thing specifically, but the general shape and the options it affords!) But the execution leaves something to be desired. A better and less buzzy motor would make all the difference. Until then, I can only really recommend it if you enjoy lighter and buzzy vibrations. (Which some people do! You do you!) Personally, I found it disappointing.

The VibrAnimals Oh Deer retails for £21/$26 from Shevibe.

[Toy Review] Pleasure Engine Fluffer Vibrating Makeup Brush

You know how some images stay with you and become a part of your erotic imagination? Years ago, I remember seeing a Dominant using a makeup brush to tease their partner’s clit at a play party. I found the entire thing unbearably sexy and have had countless fantasies about having something similar done to me. Turns out a lot of people have had the same idea! An ex partner once tried this on me with a small paintbrush (ouch, poke-y, no) but I did eventually buy a new large, soft makeup brush solely for this purpose. The Pleasure Engine Fluffer is a sex toy that takes this one step further. It is, essentially, a vibrating makeup brush (or a makeup brush vibrator, if you prefer!)

Pleasure Engine Fluffer Vibrating Makeup Brush

Pleasure Engine Fluffer vibrating makeup brush

The Pleasure Engine Fluffer is a vibrating makeup brush measuring around 6″ in length. The handle is made of ABS plastic. The bristles are made of… well, I don’t know. It doesn’t say. Makeup brushes are usually made from synthetic fibres such as nylon or polyester, so I assume the same is probably true here. However, I don’t know for sure. This means I also can’t tell you with any certainty how porous or not this material is.

In terms of cleaning, the instructions say to wash the bristles with water and gentle antibacterial soap. I did this, and it still felt soft afterwards and did not seem to hang on to any odours. However, because I can’t tell you for sure that it’s non-porous, I recommend against sharing this toy unless you have negotiated fluid exchange and this falls within your acceptable risk parameters.

This toy is splashproof rather than waterproof, so don’t use it in the bath or shower.

What I Liked About the Fluffer

I had high hopes for the Fluffer and I’m happy to say that overall I really, really liked it! Here are a few of the main things I liked about this product.

Pleasure Engine Fluffer vibrating makeup brush closeup on bristles

  • The bristles are super soft – soft enough even to brush directly over my very sensitive clit.
  • It just… feels really fucking good. The gentle tickle of the bristles combined with the vibrations is heavenly. I should note that I haven’t been able to orgasm with this toy, because the stimulation is just too gentle. For once, though, I’m not seeing that as a significant downside. In fact, this toy perfectly plays into my teasing kink. It creates exactly the kind of frustration I enjoy. And, of course, I can switch to a more intense toy when I’m ready to get off.
  • Speaking of which, if you’re using the Fluffer and find you want a little more intensity, you can just turn it around and use the handle part directly against your clit. I think this is probably incidental rather than intentional but in this way, it’s kinda like two vibrators in one.
  • It’s USB rechargeable without a cable! Simply pop the top off and use the inbuilt USB connector to attach it to a power source. It charges quickly in around 40 minutes, and I’ve had over an hour of use out of a full charge.
  • It’s super discreet and genuinely looks like the thing it’s disguised as. Fun fact: some beauty experts like vibrating brushes for actually applying makeup, so this is pretty indistinguishable from one of those. (Don’t use the same brush for your foundation that you use for your genitals, though, I beg you.) I don’t really care if my sex toys look like sex toys (I think that ship has long sailed) but plenty of people need or prefer discretion for all sorts of reasons, and toys that look like other things are great options for those folks.
  • At just $26/£21, it’s super affordable.

Anything I Didn’t Like?

Apart from the unclear material labelling re. the bristles, the main thing I dislike about this toy is that the vibrations are pretty weak and quite buzzy. As I mentioned above, I haven’t been able to actually orgasm with it.

I also find that a lot of the vibrations are transmitted through the handle. This means that my hand ends up getting buzzed a lot during use. It’s not a massive problem, but it’s definitely noticeable.

The one-button interface is, as always, kind of annoying. But I can’t complain too much with a toy at this price-point.

Fluffer Vibrating Makeup Brush: Verdict

This is a really fun little toy that I like a lot! Even though it’s not particularly powerful, it still feels amazing and it really hits on a very specific kink button for me.
