It’s almost Valentine’s Day, which can mean only one thing: a host of new lingerie and sex toy offerings! This is my third review of Lovehoney’s new Fifty Shades of Grey-inspired Captivate range (check out parts 1 and 2 here.)
By the way: there’s still time to join our free smut slam if you’re looking for a fun and socially-distanced Valentine’s Day activity!
Today we’re looking at…
Captivate Black Lace Spanking Dress
I love one-piece lingerie. I love it because it’s usually relatively comfortable, easy to wear, and easy to get on and off during sex club adventures. (*sigh* sex clubs… remember those?) It’s also often more forgiving for those of us who are well-endowed in the boob department.
It came packaged in a cardboard sleeve featuring a picture of the model and a hilarious(ly terrible) Fifty Shades quote on the back.
Inside, the dress was packaged inside a plastic film wrapper, with a piece of cardboard inside to help it keep its shape.
First impressions: wow, this is super tiny! I can’t see any way I’m ever going to fit in that! However, I quickly realised that it is also super stretchy. This “one size” version fits me (a size 12/14) comfortably, and is supposed to fit anyone from size 8-16. There’s also two plus-size versions, one to fit sizes 18-24 and one to fit sizes 26-30.
The floral mesh is pretty and feminine with just a little bit of a kink-inspired edge. The skirt reaches to just below the butt, and the hem and neckline are edged with pretty floral lace trim. The deep V-neck gives amazing cleavage, and the collar-style neck adds to the soft BDSM aesthetic.
At the back, the butt is fully cut away which is both sexy as hell and allows easy access for impact play. Wearing it just makes me want to bend over and get spanked!
Valentine’s Day is coming up! Whether you’re looking for a gift for a lover, a sexy treat for yourself, or ignoring the day altogether, this is always a great time of year for new lingerie and sex toy releases. Lovehoney’s new Captivate lingerie line has just launched in time for Valentine’s, and I’ve got a couple of mini reviews coming out this week.
By the way: are you looking for a fun stay-at-home Valentine’s date idea? Join us for our seasonal and totally free smut slam!
The Captivate line is inspired by Fifty Shades of Grey, which I… don’t love. To address something people keep asking me, I review Fifty Shades-inspired products because the reality is that a LOT of people will come to sexual exploration via that franchise, and I want to give them informed choice about what’s worth their money.
These crotchless knickers came packaged in a black and grey cardboard sleeve bearing the Captivate branding. Recyclable, yay!
The less said about THIS insult to literature that’s printed on the reverse side, the better:
The knickers are folded neatly inside the sleeve.
First impressions: the lace feels nice and soft, and I like the feminine combination of the floral motif and frilly trim around the split. A black bow adds a cute finishing touch. I’ll probably cut off the Fifty Shades insignia charm, to be honest.
These knickers are open at the crotch and butt for ease of access for sex, spanking, or whatever else you feel like doing. The effect is a sexy, oval-shaped opening, showing off your butt.
I think they look pretty good on me, don’t you?
I love lingerie that is sexy without being horrendously uncomfortable, and these knickers deliver. They sit comfortably, don’t pinch or dig in anywhere, and the lace is soft enough for all-day wear.
The Captivate Lace Open-Back Knickers are available in 4 sizes, to fit UK sizes 8 to 22. I’m currently wearing a 12/14 and I ordered the M/L size as recommended, which ran true to size and fit me well. The waistband and leg holes are stretchy, allowing for some wiggle-room on sizing.
The last 11 days have just flown by, and today is the last review of my #12DaysofLovehoney series! Do check back tomorrow, though, because I have a very special giveaway for you all. For now, though, it’s time to look at the Passion Flower Bra Set from Lovehoney’s Passion Flower lingerie line.
I’ve adored the aesthetic of the Passion Flower range ever since it first popped up on the Lovehoney site earlier this year. So I was thrilled to be offered the Passion Flower Bra Set for review as part of this project.
Passion Flower is a range of purple lace lingerie with pink and white flowers. This set consists of three pieces: an underwired halter-neck bra, a thong, and a suspender belt.
It’s worth noting that the suspenders are NOT detatchable, so you’ll need to wear stockings to get the full effect. Of course, you can ditch the suspender belt and just wear the bra and thong if stockings aren’t your thing.
The bra features a little silver charm in the shape of the Lovehoney heart insignia, and both the suspender belt and bra feature cute pink criss-cross detailing.
First impressions? I like what I see. Let’s try it on…
The Passion Flower Bra Set comes in “one size” (to fit a UK 8-16) and plus size (to fit a UK 18-24.) If you’ve been reading my lingerie reviews for a while, you’ll know I’m not generally a fan of “one size” fits – bodies are just too diverse and varied for many people to get a reliable fit.
With that said, the Passion Flower Bra Set actually does a pretty admirable job of being suitable for a range of sizes. It is adjustable in multiple places, from the back band and halter tie of the bra, to the waistbands of the knickers and suspender belt, and even the length of the suspenders.
It’s pretty suitable for a range of bust sizes, too. Once I adjusted the band size appropriately, the underwires sat securely under my boobs and the soft lace cups actually contained my G-cups.
The bra is a bit fiddly to get into. This is because the fastening mechanism isn’t a traditional bra clasp, but a simple suspender-style hook that’s pretty small. I found it easiest to put it on backwards, fasten it at the front, and then twist it to be on the right way.
Comfort-wise, the lace is very soft and a delight to wear.
I adore the look of the whole Passion Flower range! The bright colour is eye-catching and the floral design is super fun and femme. I feel flirty and feminine when I wear this set.
The wired cups and halterneck design also make it possible to get pretty epic cleavage out of this set, especially if you’re well-endowed in the boob department. The criss-cross detailing draws attention to the cleavage and waistline, while the sheer lace reveals tantalising hints of skin.
Pair with nude stockings for the complete look.
Playful yet elegant, stylish and striking… the Passion Flower Bra Set is an absolute win for me. I loved wearing it and it is definitely going to become a firm favourite.
An ideal addition to your bedroom/sex club wardrobe or a fun sexy gift for the femme in your life.

Today is the first of two lingerie reviews that will be featured in my #12DaysofLovehoney series. I first received pictures of the Empress collection quite a while ago, and I was smitten from first sight! It was hard to choose the piece I liked most, but I eventually settled on the Empress body.
Let’s dive in, shall we? Oh, and while you’re here, check out all the posts in this series.
Empress Body: First Impressions
Empress is a line of black and red lingerie from Lovehoney. The line features four different styles, and all are also available in plus size variations.
The Empress Body is a one-piece black lace body with red satin detailing. It features a plunging neckline, high-cut leg, and low back. There are also removeable suspenders, so you can wear it with matching stockings or by itself. Here’s how it looks on the model:
My first impression when I took the Empress Body out of the packaging was of quality and luxury. The materials feel lovely and it’s obviously beautifully made. I couldn’t wait to try it on and see how it looked.
Fit & Comfort
The Empress Body fits me really well! The waist band is stretchy and the bra style clasps at the back have three settings. The shoulder straps and suspenders are also highly adjustable.
It even contains my boobs reliably unless I lie down on my side (in which case they do whatever they damn well please and I am yet to find the garment that can stop them!) It’s nice to have an item of lingerie I can walk around in without feeling as though I’m having to tuck my nipples back into it every few seconds.
I wear a size 14 and I ordered the large as recommended, which ran true to size.
The Empress Body is even reasonably comfortable. The lace is soft and feels nice against my skin, and there are no uncomfortable wires or pinchy/scratchy bits.
Another nice touch is the popper fastenings on the crotch. My partner appreciated being able to pop them open and says they give the Empress Body an extra few points from him!
Look & Materials
The Empress Body is just absolutely gorgeous! The scalloped lace is luxurious and elegent, while the red detailing is super striking.
I particularly love the shape of this piece. The red band sits at the narrowest part of the waist and creates a gorgeous hourglass silhouette. And the plunging neckline emphasises the breasts and creates phenomenal cleavage!
I feel so sexy in this item. It’s been a long time since a piece of lingerie made me feel this good.
I absolutely adore this piece – I’m so, so impressed with it! I hope we can go to sex clubs again sometime in the not too distant future so that I can wear it and show it off. I think it would pair wonderfully with some ruby red sky-high heels.

I had a bit of a lingerie trying-on session and photoshoot this week! If you want to see the other outfit I tried, check out my Halloween costume. Today, we’re looking at the Serpentine Lace Body from Lovehoney’s Fierce range.
Slinky and Snakey
The Serpentine “Snakeskin” Lace Body is a lace one-piece garment and one of the newer additions to Lovehoney’s gorgeous Fierce range. It’s sort of swimsuit shaped, with a deep plunging neckline, halterneck strap, and an open crotch.
The sheer lace has a snakeskin pattern, hence the name. A wet-look panel enhances the shape of the piece and draws attention to the waistline, and the piece closes with a bra clasp at the back. It also features completely removable suspender straps, so you can choose to wear it on its own or add a pair of sexy stockings to complete the look.
As soon as I saw this piece on the Lovehoney website, I knew I wanted to try it. I love one-piece lingerie, black lace, and things that accentuate the waistline – and this ticks all three boxes. As soon as it came out of the packaging, I couldn’t wait to try it on.
Let’s find out how it lived up to expectations!
Fit & Comfort
The Serpentine Lace Body comes in five sizes: S/M/L and then two plus sizes. I’m a UK size 14 and I ordered the large.
Overall, the fit was great. With the shoulder straps, halter, and bra clasps being completely adjustable, it’s easy to move things around to fit your unique body shape.
In a revelation that will surprise no-one, my F-cup (ish) boobs were barely contained in this piece. They stayed put when I was standing up or lying on my back, but as soon as I moved around or moved into my side, my nipples were popping out. So that’s something to be aware of if you’re large busted. But on the whole, the Serpentine Lace Body runs true to size.
This piece is also so genuinely comfortable. Because there are no wires or anything, there’s nothing to dig in or poke you in sensitive places. I could happily wear it for hours.
Look & Feel
This piece feels very “me”. It has a bondage-inspired aesthetic that is just incredibly sexy to me. I particularly love the way the halter strap draws attention to my cleavage, and the way the waistband accentuates the curve of my body.
The Serpentine Body makes me feel sexy in my body and makes me want to flirt and dance and fuck. Whenever we can go to sex clubs again, this will definitely be getting an outing!
Well, judge for yourselves. I think I look hot as hell, personally.
There are so many different ways you could wear this piece. It’s striking on its own, but you could also pair it with stockings and killer heels, add a cape and some fangs for a vampy Halloween look, or even wear it under some skintight leather-look trousers.
Sexy, comfy, and versatile. A+ all round.
Lovehoney’s lingerie team have knocked it out of the park yet again. Is there anything in the Fierce range I don’t like? If so, I haven’t found it yet. More of this please!

Like so many other things, Halloween is going to look a little different this year. There won’t be any big parties, club nights, or trips to the dungeon. But there are still lots of ways you can celebrate! Since this is a sex blog, let’s look at a few fun and sexy ways you can have a fabulous Halloween at home.
Create some spooky sexy content
Whether you’re a porn performer, a cam model, or just enjoy getting a bit exhibitionistic online for the fun of it, why not create some Halloween-themed sexy content at home?
How much you want to lean into this is up to you. You could do your usual thing but swap out your regular outfits of choice for some witchy black latex, or you could get really creative and build a whole scene around a spooky scenario. Erotica writers could write some seasonal smut.
Fun fact: In researching this article, I discovered that the keyphrase “halloween porn” gets Google searched 170,000 per month on average. So what I’m saying is that there’s a market for this.
Dress up with your partner
Doing Halloween at home with your lover(s) this year? Spice (or spook) things up with some thematically-appropriate bedroom fancy dress.
Whether you look devilish in red or let your inner Catwoman out to play, you can tap into the Halloween spirit without ever leaving your bedroom.
Have a hot virtual party
Got a few trusted friends or playmates you’d be partying with if it was safe to do so? You can still get into the Halloween spirit with a fun online party. Get dressed up and show your outfits off to each other on cam, make some suitably ghoulish cocktails/mocktails, and maybe even have a costume contest.
Do something that scares you just a little bit
Have you got a kink you’ve always wanted to try, but been too nervous to actually go for it? The spirit of Halloween is all about playing with fear. So if you’re up for it and you want to, take the opportunity to try that thing that scares you just a little bit.
Naturally, the same rules for trying a new kink apply here. Communicate lots, do it sober, put every viable safety precaution in place, have a safeword, and only try edgy things with someone you feel completely safe with.
Have a virtual horror movie date
Virtual dates have come into their own more than ever before this year. If you’re not physically with your partner or have recently started dating someone new, you could have a virtual Halloween horror movie date.
(Or, you know, any other kind of movie. I hate horror, I’m just trying to keep this post on theme.)
You might not be able to snuggle up and hold their hand at the scary bits, but at least you can keep each other company wherever you are in the world. Looking for some inspiration? Check out this list of the sexiest horror movies.
How are you doing Halloween at home?
I’d love to hear any fun ideas you have to celebrate this year!
I deliberated whether to define this set as lingerie, but ultimately decided it fell better into the category of nightwear. Which I’ve never reviewed before. Exciting! Today we’re looking at the Lovehoney Cherry Blossom Cami Set.
I loved this set the moment my contact at Lovehoney sent me the pictures ahead of the release date. It was just so pretty that I knew I needed to own it. Let’s see how the reality matched up.
The Cherry Blossom Cami Set is so gorgeous and feminine. I love the delicate floral pattern, the pretty lace edging, and the colour that reminds me of the sky on a summer day.
The thin cross-straps leave your upper back on display for an extra little bit of sex appeal.
Soft and Silky…
Nightwear should be comfortable first and foremost. So I was pleased to find that this set is made of lovely, soft satin. It feels luxurious to wear, and my partner enjoyed stroking it, too!
The lace is also nice and soft, not at all scratchy. I usually avoid lace on nightwear because it can be a sensory nightmare, but this lace is soft enough to get away with it.
This set comes in Small, Medium and Large sizes. There’s also an identical plus-size version. I got the Large, which corresponds to a 14/16 in UK sizes. I wear a 14 in most clothing brands these days.
The bottoms fit beautifully. The waistband is elasticated, making them suitable for the range of body shapes that fall into this size bracket.
The straps on the top are adjustable, allowing you to make them shorter or longer to fit you properly. Sadly, the back band on the top is not stretchy and I found it just a little too tight to be completely comfortable. If, like me, you prefer your nightwear to fit more loosely, I recommend going one size up from your usual.
It doesn’t cover an awful lot in the chest department if, like me, you have huge boobs. I don’t quite fall out of it, but it certainly leaves little to the imagination!
The Cherry Blossom Cami Set is easy to put on and take off. Just make sure the cross-straps are in the right place so you don’t get tangled up when you pull it over your head!
Care & Cleaning
The Cherry Blossom Cami Set is hand-wash only. Use a bowl of warm (not hot) water and some gentle detergent. Alternatively, the hand-wash setting on your washing machine will be fine if you put the items in a protective washing bag.
The satin material snags very, very easily. For that reason, I recommend storing your Cami Set out of the way of anything scratchy or sharp (bra clasps are THE WORST for this.) You could also keep it in a lingerie bag for extra protection.
This set is beautiful. The cherry blossom pattern is gorgeous and the blue satin is soft and luxurious to wear. I’ll probably only wear the top for sexy purposes rather than comfortable nightwear purposes due to the fit issue, but I can definitely see myself wearing the bottoms for lazing around the house (and even sleeping, on the rare occasions that I don’t sleep naked.)
The Cherry Blossom Cami Set retails for £29.99 at Lovehoney. While youre there, check out the whole range!

Some things are classic for a reason. The combination of black, lacy and sheer for sexy lingerie is one of them. Today I’m pleased to bring you a review of the black lace babydoll from Lovehoney’s new Late Night Liaison range.
Let’s take a look
I’ve declared my love for one-piece lingerie before. Okay, the Late Night Liaison babydoll is technically two pieces, since it comes with a thong. But it’s the main piece I want to focus on here.
The babydoll features a plunging neckline and criss-cross style straps at the back. Two additional straps frame the cleavage and meet in the middle. The bust and underbust panel are made of a pretty floral lace, and the skirt is a plain black mesh. The Lovehoney silver heart insignia sits at the bottom of the V-neck, between the breasts.
Here it is on the model:
Fit and Comfort
As you can see from the picture of this piece on the model, the first elasticated band is supposed to sit under the bust. On me, it sits just under my nipples. I haven’t had a bra fitting in well over a decade and have no idea what size I actually am, but I’d guess something around an F cup. If you’re any bigger than a D, don’t expect the Late Night Liaison babydoll to actually contain very much. Yes, it covers my boobs… but barely.
It’s listed as “one size,” which… argh. You guys know how I generally feel about “one size” lingerie. (Spoiler: there’s no such thing, bodies are different, I’d rather pay a bit more for something that actually fits my body!)
Since the bands are highly adjustable and the underbust (lol) band and waistband are stretchy, it’s probably technically true that anyone from a size 8 to a 16 could wear this piece. But what I would really like to see is sizing that takes different bust sizes into account.
There’s also a Plus Size version, designed to fit sizes 18-24. The two versions are otherwise identical.
As lingerie goes, the Late Night Liaison babydoll is acceptably comfortable. The lace could be softer, but it’s not horribly scratchy, and the mesh of the skirt is lovely – soft and light.
And, praise the universe, no fucking wires!
Care and Cleaning
As with most delicate items made of lace or mesh, this item is hand-wash only. Use a bowl of warm (not hot) water and some gentle detergent. You can also use the hand-wash cycle on your washing machine, if it has one.
As the fine lace and mesh can tear easily, store your lingerie away from anything with sharp bits or things it could snag on (bra straps are the worst for this!) Keeping it in a lingerie bag is a good way to keep it safe.
Aesthetics and Sex Appeal
I thought the Late Night Liaison babydoll was pretty enough when I took it out of the bag, but I really fell in love with it when I put it on.
The delicate floral lace is really beautiful, the shape is flattering, and I adore the way she centre straps frame my cleavage. I particularly like the extra lace panel under the bust, which gives it an unusual shape that’s a bit different from the classic babydoll.
Considering that Mr CK asked me to wear it the next time we had sex after it arrived, I’d say he’s a fan too!
Despite the imperfect fit issues due to the dreaded “one size,” I’m overall a fan of this piece and will definitely be wearing it again. Pretty, flattering, wire-free lingerie that makes me feel good to wear is always a wonderful thing to find.
Thanks to Lovehoney for sending me this piece to review. All opinions are, as always, my own. If you enjoy my work, please sign up to Coffee Date, my new e-newsletter, to get bonus content delivered to your inbox every two weeks.
We all know by now, don’t we, that I am a whimsical romantic? So how could I resist some cutesy Valentine’s-themed lingerie? Hot For You is Lovehoney’s 2020 Valentine’s offering.
Things are heating up…
Hot For You consists of three sets: a bra and knickers set available in standard and plus sizes, and a thong designed for people with penises. They are all black and feature small decorative accents (hearts on the bra sets, flames on the thong) which start off black and turn to red as your body temperature rises. Cute, no?
I got sent the Hot For You bra set to try out…
I heart this look
Aesthetically I’m really into this range. It’s playful and just a touch on the silly side without being excessively twee or over-the-top. Black is my preferred colour of choice for lingerie most of the time, and the heart accents are super cute.
(Though I wish they’d made the flame design thong for folks with vulvas too – the idea of a colour-changing fire icon over my junk just amuses me on a deep level for some reason.
Does the colour-change function actually work?
So my house tends to get Extremely Fucking Cold at this time of year. Therefore, the first time I tried these pieces on, I… erm, blasted a hairdryer at my tits for a few seconds. (The things I do for you guys and journalism, honestly!) The hearts changed colour almost immediately in the warmth.
I later tried them on again when I wasn’t quite so cold, and they did change nicely as my body temperature warmed up.
So, yes, it does what it says on the tin.
Comfort and Fit
Yet again, these pieces are listed as “One Size.” The standard is supposed to fit sizes 8 – 16, and the plus is supposed to fit sizes 18 – 24. The bra and knickers actually are very adjustable; the bands are made of an elasticated satin material and are also length-adjustable. The bra is a halter-neck design, so be aware of that. If you find it difficult to tie things behind you, you might want to get someone to help you.
Though these pieces function as “One Size” better than many I’ve tried, I still have the familiar recurring problem: my boobs don’t really fit. The standard bra and knickers set fits me quite nicely (I’m about a size 14 right now,) but really barely contained my probably-an-F-cup boobs at all. The spilling-out look can be fun if that’s your sort of thing, but I prefer a bit more coverage unless I’m intentionally going for revealing.
The standard Hot For You set is really designed for folks who are more like an A – D cup. It’s frustrating that lingerie designs always assume that bigger body = bigger boobs, which isn’t true at all! Some people wear a size 8 but have F-cup boobs. Some people are plus-size but have small boobs! This is always going to be an issue in “One Size” pieces, which is why I generally wish that making sexy lingerie based on actual measurements (i.e. cup and band sizes) was more of a thing.
(Though, I have to admit, my partners were in favour of the “boobs falling out” look.)
The bra provides next to no actual support, but… I mean, it’s not like I was going jogging in it, and I don’t wear bras most of the time anyway, so *shrug.*
The sizing issue notwithstanding, the Hot For You set gets good marks for comfort. The mesh material is soft and non-scratchy, and the stretchy satin bands feel nice against the skin. There are no wires or boning, so nothing to dig in or pinch.
A cute and inexpensive Valentine’s day gift – for your lover or yourself! (Fun idea: wear this set to bed and see how long it takes your lover to notice that the hearts or flames are changing colour!)
Thanks to Lovehoney for sending me this piece in exchange for an honest review! Affiliate links are contained within this post. All views are mine. Selfie is by me, other pics are by Lovehoney and used with permission.
I understand intellectually that Valentine’s Day is a made-up holiday… and I love it anyway. I’m a soppy hopeless romantic at heart, and a day to celebrate love is fine by me! Of course, I think this should include all forms of love, not just sexual and romantic relationships.
As the Day of Love is fast approaching, I wanted to share with you a few of the products I’ve tried recently and that I think would make ideal gifts, if giving sexy/romantic gifts is something you do in your relationship.
