8 of the Best Travel-Friendly Vibrators to Pack for Your Next Vacation

Who doesn’t love getting away from it all for a much-needed vacation? If you’re travelling with a partner, you might be one of the many couples that enjoys more and better sex when you’re away from home. Vacations take you away from the stresses of daily life, give you more free time, and help you to get into a more relaxed frame of mind, while allowing you to connect with your partner over a shared adventure—all key ingredients for great sex. Whether you’re travelling alone or with a lover, these travel-friendly vibrators available at ShopErotic will add a little extra sizzle to your next trip.

Travelling with sex toys is easy as long as you’re sensible (don’t try to take that giant stainless steel dildo through airport security!) Pack them in your checked or carry-on bag, engage the travel lock if your toy has one, and make sure it’s clean in case your bag gets checked. And remember: yours isn’t even the first vibrator airline staff have seen today. Unless it looks like a weapon, they don’t care.

I’ve partnered with ShopErotic adult store to bring you a rundown of 8 travel-friendly vibrators you should know about.

We-Vibe Tango X: The Ultimate Bullet

The original We-Vibe Tango wowed power lovers everywhere, and the rereleased and improved Tango X upped the ante even more. This petite powerhouse is one of the strongest and rumbliest bullet vibrators on the market, and its small size makes it ideal for throwing in your travel bag.

Before we decided it made more sense to keep a set of toys at each of our houses, this was one of the vibrators I’d often pack to visit my long distance girlfriend.

VeDO Vivi Finger Vibrator

Finger vibrators are a great choice for travel due to their small size and discreet design. VeDO is known for quality toys with great motors at relatively affordable price points, and the Vivi finger vibrator is its most petite product. I particularly like the finger-rest design, making it comfortable to hold whether you’re using it on yourself or someone else.

ShopErotic stocks this toy in three different colourways.

RRP: $39.99

Womanizer Vibe: Near-Silent Vibrator for When You Need Discretion on Your Travels

If you’re visiting family, staying in shared accommodation, or otherwise need to be discreet, the Womanizer Vibe has got you covered. This deeply rumbly clitoral vibrator, with its ergonomic handle and hooked tip, is about as close to silent as it’s possible for a vibrator to get.

I was cynical when I saw Womanizer was expanding its range to include a vibrator alongside its signature clitoral suction toys, but the Womanizer Vibe absolutely converted me.

RRP: $139.99

We-Vibe Chorus and Chorus Pro: Travel Vibrators for Couples

The We-Vibe Chorus and newly redesigned Chorus Pro are the perfect wearable, travel-friendly vibrators for couples on the go. Designed to provide clitoral stimulation to the wearer during penetrative sex, the Chorus vibrators also come in a convenient charging and travel case. They are powerful, quiet, and—thanks to the innovative squeeze remotes and We-Vibe app functionality—highly versatile.

Lovense Ferri Panty Vibrator

Tiny. Powerful. Discreet. These are the three words I’d use to describe the Ferri, Lovense’s small but mighty panty vibrator. With a magnetic clip to keep it in place and a motor to rival toys many times its size, the Ferri is an ideal choice for hands-free pleasure wherever you go.

Vibratex Magic Wand Micro: The Cadillac of Vibrators, Now in Travel-Friendly Miniature

I don’t know who originally referred to the Magic Wand Original (formerly Hitachi Magic Wand) as “the Cadillac of vibrators,” but this is a toy with a reputation that precedes it thanks to the work of the inimitable Betty Dodson. The Magic Wand Micro is a super-mini and travel-friendly rechargeable version that packs a surprising amount of power into a small package.

RRP: $64.99

NS Novelties Inya Rose Clitoral Suction Toy

Has any sex toy caused quite such an online stir as the famed rose? This viral sensation remains popular, and for good reason. Petite, travel-friendly, and discreet, it’s an ideal addition to a romantic getaway with a lover or a sexy solo vacation. The rose clitoral suction toy is rechargeable, easy to use, and made of body-safe silicone.

b-Vibe Rimming Plug Petite

If anal pleasure is your thing, you might want to pack a vibrating butt plug. b-Vibe’s Petite Rimming Plug is small but powerful, with dual motors and rotating beads to stimulate the sensitive anal opening and external tissue. It also comes with a wireless remote, allowing you to give control to your partner from up to 30 feet away.

[Toy Review] Godemiche Wand Attachments

Anyone who has read my work for any length of time will know about my obsession with both wand vibrators and things with interesting textures. So combining the two? Yes, hello, I’m listening! Godemiche, purveyors of all kinds of colourful silicone goodness, have recently created wand attachment heads for the Hitachi Magic Wand and Doxy vibrators.

What Are Wand Attachments and Why Use Them?

Doxy magic wand vibrator with Godemiche wand attachment

Wand attachments are removeable covers that fit over the head of a wand vibrator such as a Doxy or Magic Wand. They are usually made of a soft and flexible material such as silicone or TPE.

Attachments are a fantastic addition to wand vibrators, allowing you to explore different sensations and ways of using your wand. For example, an attachment can turn your wand into a rabbit, penis masturbator, or G-spot vibe, concentrate the vibrations into a smaller area, or add texture.

They can also lower the intensity of a wand for those who find the strong vibrations to be too much. And, if you’re sharing your toy with a partner, swapping out toppers between users is a quick and easy way to minimise your risk of STI transmission without having to pause to sterilise the toy itself.

Godemiche Magic Wand & Doxy Attachment Heads: 2 Sizes, 3 Textures

Godemiche wand attachments in four textures and colours

Godemiche’s wand attachment heads are currently available in two sizes: one to fit the Doxy (Original or Die Cast), and the other to fit the Vibratex/Hitachi Magic Wand. Though you probably could use them with some other wand brands, they are only officially recommended for the Doxy or Hitachi and therefore you risk damaging the toppers if you use them outside of these recommendations.

These attachments are made of body-safe silicone and, like all Godemiche products, available in a dizzying array of colours. You can choose your own or ask the company to surprise you. Since they are silicone and non-powered, you can clean them with warm water and antibacterial soap and sterilise them with a body-safe medical wipe or by boiling.

Godemiche’s Magic Wand/Doxy attachment heads are available in six different textures. I received the original three—Waves, Ridges, and Bubbles—to try out.

Waves

I was the most excited about this one because the Waves is one of my alltime favourite textures from Godemiche’s increasingly extensive range of grinding toys.

I’ve always found this one works best with a firm surface underneath because I want to grind against it hard. So putting it on a Magic Wand/Doxy attachment is genius because it allows you to apply as much pressure as you like and move the head of the wand in different motions. A back-and-forth motion with the vibrator on a low or medium setting feels like having dozens of little tongues flicking over your clit.

Get this one if… you’re looking for continual clitoral stimulation that’s soft and flexible, yet still moderately intense.

Ridges

This one is best suited to those who prefer more intense stimulation. It feels a bit like the Waves, only “more”—the ridges are firmer and have less give to them, but you still get that continuous back-and-forth stimulation.

I absolutely adore this one, particularly in combination with the vibrations. I’ve also found that this attachment head works really well if I put my Magic Wand/Doxy down on a surface (such as the bed, a sex pillow, or a wand mount) and then grind against it.

Get this one if… you prefer a more intense rubbing sensation, or have enjoyed the Waves texture but wished it was a little firmer.

Bubbles

I don’t reach for my Bubbles Grind Rings that often because they’re slightly too gentle for me. When I want texture, I generally want a little more than this subtle design can provide. It’s fine for a warm-up or when I’m already feeling very sensitive, but by itself it doesn’t do a huge amount for me.

With that said, this will work really well for some people and might be a good choice for those who are trying Magic Wand attachment heads for the first time.

Get this one if… you prefer a gentler sensation or find too much extreme texture overwhelming or uncomfortable.

Godemiche Doxy/Magic Wand Attachment Heads: Verdict

Obsessed. Ob. Sessed.

A way to make my beloved Doxy even better? Fuck yes. I adore these things and will be yelling about them to every wand vibrator fan I know.

Godemiche wand attachments retail for £34.99 for a surprise colourway in the texture of your choice. Custom colourways add a small additional charge.

[Toy Review] Vibratex Magic Wand Original AKA “The Hitachi”

Yes, it’s finally time for a Magic Wand (formerly the Hitachi Magic Wand or simply “Hitachi”) review! Readers and workshop participants often ask me for wand vibrator recommendations, and I did not feel as though I could give a fully informed opinion without trying the so-called “Cadillac of vibrators.” The Magic Wand Original is notoriously hard to come by in the UK. However, a kind US contact was able to hook me up.

The Magic Wand is the toy that started it all when it comes to wand-style massagers. This product was originally sold as a “personal massager” for sore muscles. It was Betty Dodson – artist, educator, masturbation connoisseur, and inimitable vibrator peddler extraordinaire – who popularised the Magic Wand as a tool for masturbation. Since then, there have been countless copycats and imitations, plenty of them terrible and some of them even unsafe. But the Magic Wand still reigns supreme as the most famous and sought-after vibrator of them all.

The Magic Wand Original wand vibrator

Okay, that’s enough of a history lesson. Let’s crack on with the review.

The Magic Wand Original comes packaged in a simple blue and white box with a picture of the product on the outside. This has changed remarkably little from the original packaging of the 1960s, except that the “Hitachi” name has been removed. (The company removed their name from the product in 2013, though continued to manufacture it after persuasion from distributor Vibratex).

The Magic Wand is 12″ long in total and weighs 540g. This puts it on the heavier side. If you struggle to hold heavy things or have a condition such as arthritis, you may want to take the weight and size of the thing into account. A good option for those who want to use a powerful wand but struggle to hold or manipulate it is to use a wand mount.

Vibratex (Formerly Hitachi) Magic Wand Original Review: Details

The body of the Magic Wand Original is made of plastic. The head appears to be PVC, though some retailers list it as TPE. Either way, the material is likely to be somewhat porous. This means it will harbour bacteria and is impossible to truly 100% clean. What this means, in practice, is that your Magic Wand probably won’t last forever. It also means you shouldn’t share it without a barrier.

One option is to buy an attachment made of silicone. Alternatively, if you upgrade to the Magic Wand Rechargeable, the head of that one is silicone.

This is a mains-operated toy and comes with a cable measuring approximately 5 feet in length. If you’re outside of North America, you’ll need a suitable converter to use it safely in your location.

Wand Review: So, Does the Famed “Hitachi” Live Up To Its Name?

I’m sure what anyone reading a Magic Wand review really wants to know is “is it actually as powerful as people say?” Fans of the Magic Wand like to say it has 2 settings: High, and Holy-Fucking-Shit.

So yes, if what you want is power and a lot of it, this toy delivers. There are no patterns and no finely graded settings, so if that’s what you need, give this one a miss. But for pure power alone, it’s a solid bet.

The Magic Wand’s vibrations felt rumbly and penetrating. It’s loud, but then again most wands are. Someone in the next room can easily hear it, so bear this in mind if you’ve got roommates or family at home. Discreet this thing is not.

The Magic Wand Original is operated by a simple one-button interface.

Perhaps surprisingly, though, my overall review of the Magic Wand Original isn’t an unqualified and glowing endorsement. Powerful? Yes. But despite that, I found myself annoyed by both the softness of the head and the flexibility of the neck. When I’m playing with a really powerful toy like this one, I want to be able to push it hard against my vulva and feel the vibrations everywhere.  The bendy neck made it difficult to get the level of purchase I really desired. In this regard, it loses out to the Doxy Number 3 with its rigid silicone head and less flexible neck.

Magic Wand Original Review Verdict: Worth the Hype?

The Magic Wand Original is perhaps the most hyped sex toy of all time, and tends to retail for between $70 and $90 depending on the retailer. Is it worth it?

Yes and no.

The Magic Wand Original is a very powerful toy. However, if you’ve got this kind of money to throw at a wand vibe, I have to say that I think the Doxy is a better investment. The Magic Wand Original loses major points from me for the porous head and the overly flexible neck.

In the final analysis? I enjoyed it just fine, but I was less blown away than I hoped and expected to be. I’d like to review the Magic Wand Rechargeable to see how that stacks up, so get in touch if you can hook me up.

The Magic Wand Original is available from Good Vibes, Babeland, and Lovehoney US.
