What is Ethical Porn and How Can It Enhance Your Sex Life?

I have no problem with porn, but I do have a pretty big problem with the mainstream porn industry. The largest and most dominant pornographic sites have come under fire for hosting non-consensual material including so-called “revenge porn” (i.e. image-based abuse) and even child abuse material. They also often steal content from indie and amateur creators. But all porn isn’t like that and there is an alternative. If you’ve never explored ethical porn, you’re missing out. But what is ethical porn all about and how is Bellesa bringing it to more bedrooms?

Bellesa Plus ethical porn streaming platform

Today I’m spotlighting ethical porn platform Bellesa Plus, a streaming platform that calls itself “The Netflix of Porn” with prices starting from $3 per month. The higher prices offer special perks, such as free sex toys and gift cards to the Bellesa Boutique (BBoutique), but the low entry point means you can enjoy more ethical adult content even if you’re on a budget.

But What is Ethical Porn?

As with many of the things we consume, from food to media, people are becoming more and more concerned about the ethics behind their porn. Untangling exactly what constitutes ethical porn can be a minefield, especially given that the porn industry is still often defending its right to exist at all.

Here are four things that I believe go into making porn ethical. These are bare minimum standards, not a comprehensive framework; the porn industry is massive and complicated, and this issue is far too nuanced to sum up in a single post.

This might seem like a bare minimum standard, but it’s missing from a shocking amount of mainstream porn. 100% of Bellesa’s content features consenting adults having consensual sex that has been consensually filmed.

Performers have the opportunity to negotiate with their partner before filming starts, exploring their likes and dislikes. If a scene involves roleplay, performers will receive a brief about their role in plenty of time to ensure they’re comfortable with it.

Ethical Porn Centres Chemistry and Connection

I don’t watch porn very often. I tend to prefer my erotic material in written form. When I do watch porn, I often gravitate towards amateur content because it feels so much more authentic. Whatever the specific acts that they’re engaging in, ultimately I want to watch people who truly like (or even love) each other having hot sex that they’re genuinely enjoying.

Many mainstream porn studios don’t give performers much choice who they work with. Part of Bellesa’s ethical framework involves pairing performers who truly have chemistry and actually want to have sex with each other. Because real connection and attraction makes for much hotter content and a much better working environment for the performers.

Women as Subjects, Not Objects

One of the things that will turn me off the fastest in any porn scene is seeing women being objectified. This is apparent in everything from the naming of scenes to the ways in which female pleasure is explored (or, often, ignored.)

Ethical porn puts the pleasure of all participants front and center. Ethical porn depicts women as full human beings with their own desires and erotic agency. In other words, subjects of pleasure, not objects to be acted upon. Bellesa porn is directed and produced by women, headed up by the inimitable Jacky St. James.

A Safe and Respectful Working Environment

Making pornography is work, and hard work at that. Performers deserve a safe working environment just as much as employees in any other industry.

This can be as simple as prioritizing their comfort on set, such as making sure they’re well fed and hydrated. Sexual safety is important too, whether that’s ensuring plenty of lube is used or carrying out rigorous testing for STIs and COVID-19. And, of course, performers must retain the right to say no or to call “cut” on a scene for any reason.

Performers should also be fairly compensated for the work they do. Many porn performers say they love their job, but it can also be physically and emotionally taxing at times. Performers are workers and deserve to be paid a fair rate.

How Ethical Porn Can Enhance Your Sex Life

Despite what naysayers might say about it, I believe that porn can be a healthy and positive addition to your sex life, whether you’re single or partnered. When you make a point of consuming ethical porn, you can feel good about your viewing habits.

Here are three ways ethical porn can enhance your sex life.

Get New Ideas

I recently experimented with a new kink activity with my partner. Why? Because I saw this specific act in a porn clip, thought it looked hot, and asked him if he’d be willing to try it with me.

Good, ethical porn has the potential to introduce you to new kinks, activities, and ways of having sex that you might never have thought of before. While you might not want to try everything you see, some things are sure to resonate.

One of the things I love most about human sexuality is its infinite variety. Every single day, people are having sex in endlessly creative ways, many of which I’m sure I’ve never even thought of (and you probably haven’t, either!) Ethical porn gives you a consensual window into other people’s bedrooms and allows you to draw inspiration from what you see.

Enjoy Things You Can’t Do in Real Life

Perhaps there are things you fantasize about but can’t (or don’t want to) do in real life. For example, you might be a bisexual person in a monogamous relationship with a different-gender partner. Watching porn can allow you to express your attraction to same-gendered people without changing the relationship you have with your partner.

Or maybe you have a particular fetish that your partner doesn’t share. If your relationship agreements don’t allow for getting that itch scratched with others, porn featuring your kink is another ethical and safe sexual outlet.

It’s also valid to enjoy things in fantasy that you don’t want to do in real life. Let’s say you fantasize about gangbangs but consider the idea too risky to carry out in reality. Ethical porn is a wonderful way to enjoy your fantasies in a safe way that doesn’t carry any of the real-world risk that might come with realising them.

Boost Your Desire

For many people, including me, arousal begets arousal. In other words, the more you masturbate, have sex, or consume erotic media, the more you’ll want to. The anti-porn crowd would say this is a bad thing, but I believe it can be just the opposite! After all, sexual pleasure is healthy and orgasms are good for us. Why not seek a little more of both in your life?

So if you’re looking to get in the mood more often or more easily, pulling up your favourite steamy scene can help make that happen. Whether you watch alone or with a partner, the right porn can help to fire up your libido when it needs a little extra help.

[Guest Post] How CBD Lube Changed My Sex Life When My Body Forgot How to Orgasm by Hattie Gladwell

Today’s guest post comes from Hattie Gladwell (she/her,) a freelance journalist whose work I have been reading and enjoying for a while. This piece on how Dani Pepper O CBD lube was a game-changer for her is her first post for C&K.

I loved this story because struggles with orgasm are so, so common, especially for cis women and other people with vulvas. The limited cultural narratives around sex can make us feel that we should all be having the most amazing sex, all the time and without ever talking about it.

Those same narratives push the idea that if we’re with the right partner, sex and orgasm will be easy and effortless, and that any use of additional tools (such as toys or lube) indicate failure. But as we can see from Hattie’s story, those things can be game changers in the best possible way.

Enjoy!

Dani Pepper O: How This CBD Lube Changed My Sex Life When My Body Forgot How to Orgasm

I was in a sexless relationship for almost six years. It was difficult not just physically, but mentally, too. I wanted an intimate relationship, but sadly he wasn’t interested. Of course, I thought it was me. That something was wrong with me. I changed how I looked constantly to see if maybe he’d start loving me again, but the relationship had been dead for years.

When we first got together, I was able to orgasm easily and quickly. Multiple times. Having an orgasm wasn’t something I’d ever struggled with. I’d always had a good sex life before the relationship, and during the first year. But everything changed, and I don’t know why.

When we finally broke up and I walked away from the stale relationship, I met somebody new quickly. My family and friends warned me that it was too early, that I needed to heal. But I had already done my healing over the last six months of the relationship—because I knew it was coming to an end.

It was incredible to have sex with someone new. I mean, it was incredible just to have sex again. But, I couldn’t orgasm. It made me feel bad because I didn’t want my new partner to think it was him. My body just forgot what an orgasm felt like, and I couldn’t do it anymore.

When I tried to get there, it was even more impossible, because I was putting myself under too much pressure. It wasn’t until I decided to “re-discover myself” alone, learning what I liked and didn’t like, and what made me tick, that finally (with a little help from Dani Pepper O CBD lube) I came to climax again.

I decided to show my partner what I liked, and it worked—but it still took me up to an hour to get there, and sometimes I couldn’t at all. It was frustrating and I felt resentment towards my ex because I felt like I had no control over my body.

I could only come during mutual masturbation. Never during sex. Which is annoying, because I want to reach orgasm when my partner does. It feels more intimate. It makes me feel closer.

That’s where the Dani Pepper CBD lube comes in.

There are lots of CBD lubes out there, even though not that many people know about them. Of course, most people have heard about CBD and the common belief that it helps with chronic pain. But it can also help with sensitivity of the vulva, as it is absorbed through the tissues.

I was sceptical, but decided to try Dani Pepper’s “O” orgasm enhancer.

It comes in a bottle that looks just like regular, non-CBD lube, and is transparent. It’s made using organic and natural ingredients, and is water-based, meaning it’s okay to use with latex.

I sat down with my partner and talked about using the lube, and he agreed. He was just as adamant about getting my orgasms back on track as I was.

That night, we had sex. But before we did, we did what we usually do, and he tried to get me off. I decided to do it during mutual masturbation because I wanted my body to get used to the CBD lube in a way that I knew might just make me come.

He put the lube on me, and within 15 minutes I started to feel more relaxed. I wasn’t worried about climaxing. I decided that it didn’t matter if I didn’t orgasm this time—I could always try again.

But I did come. Quickly. Intensely. The most extraordinary orgasm I have ever had.

It lasted for at least 10 seconds, and afterwards, my legs were shaking and I couldn’t speak through breathlessness.

What I also loved is how calm I felt afterwards. I continued to feel this really relaxing sensation. Sex afterwards was amazing because, even though I can’t come through penetration still, it made us both feel accomplished. Knowing I’d “got there” meant there were no frustrated vibes after having sex—or masturbating for an hour.

I always use the Dani Pepper O lube every time we have sex now. It’s my go-to, and I of course have more than one bottle at a time so that I can keep myself stocked up.

CBD lube has been a game-changer for me. Not just because of the incredibly intense orgasms, but because it has brought me closer to my partner sexually. I feel like our sex life is way more intimate now, and I never feel like I’m missing out. And I won’t ever again.

[Kink Product Review] Bondage Boutique Glow-in-the-Dark Collar and Lead

Bondage Boutique is Lovehoney’s own brand line of affordable BDSM, kink, and bondage gear, comprising restraints, impact toys, collar and lead/leash sets like this one, and more. While I’ve liked some items from the range more than others over the years, they’re generally pretty solid beginner-friendly pieces.

Bondage Boutique BDSM Collar & Leash Set

The Bondage Boutique Glow-in-the-Dark Collar and Lead Set is made of a vegan-friendly faux leather material. I have mixed and complicated feelings about both real and faux leather. Both come with ethical pros and cons. I tend to prefer the real thing these days unless we’re talking about sustainable faux leather, but people have different views on this so it’s great to see different options being made available.

Whether you choose real leather, faux leather, or different materials entirely, the most important thing is to choose pieces you love and will use for years, then pass them on or recycle them responsibly when you’re finished with them.

The Bondage Boutique BDSM collar and leash set features a black central stripe surrounded by two stripes that are white in daylight, and glow luminous green in the dark.

BDSM collar and leash set

It’s really hard to get a picture of it in the dark with the mediocre camera I have, so here’s one from the official product page:

BDSM collar and leash glowing in the dark

The collar and leash are connected by a 35.5″ chain which can be unclipped from the D-ring at the front. The leash features a looped handle in matching black and white faux leather. Comfortable to hold and convenient for keeping your submissive close to you!

The product page says this collar is “submersible” but honestly I wouldn’t recommend getting it wet. Splashes or sweat won’t do it any harm, but don’t wear it in the shower.

Glow in the Dark BDSM Collar & Leash Set: Appearance

The black-and-white look of this collar is just unusual enough to be eyecatching, but also means it will work with most outfits. The aesthetic is pretty gender-neutral, so it can potentially work for a wide array of different gender expressions.

Kinky collar and lead set BDSM toy in vegan leather

The glow-in-the-dark effect is fun and quirky. You’ll never lose your submissive in a dark dungeon again! Overall, this collar looks stylish and understated in the light, then fun and playful in the dark.

Overall, I have to say I don’t think this is really my aesthetic. It’s objectively nice enough, but I tend to prefer either more colour or a more feminine look. I’ll probably pass this on to someone else now that I’m done testing and reviewing it.

An Affordable Basic

One of the things I appreciate about the Bondage Boutique range is that it offers well-made items for a fraction of the price you’d pay for bespoke or custom kink gear. While I love a high-end piece as much as anyone, it’s vital that beginners and kinksters on a budgets have access to safe, quality toys. If you’re looking for a basic BDSM collar and leash set to get you started, this is a good option.

The Bondage Boutique Glow-in-the-Dark Collar and Lead set appears well made and robust. The stitching is neat and strong, and the hardware pieces are securely fastened to the faux leather.

Fit and Comfort

The Glow-in-the-Dark Collar and Lead set is fully adjustable. The collar features 7 sizing holes and you could probably add another easily enough with the right tool. It measures 20.5″ in total length and will fit the vast majority of neck sizes as it is.

I found this collar comfortable and enjoyable to wear. The material is soft and flexible and doesn’t irritate my skin. The band is narrow enough that I can wear it comfortably for hours without it affecting my posture. (I have intermittent neck and upper back pain, and collars that are too wide can exacerbate it if I wear them for too long.)

From a comfort perspective, the only downside is that the material doesn’t really “breathe,” since faux leather is a synthetic material (i.e. plastic.) This means my neck gets very sweaty after a while. If you’re wearing it in a warm environment, you might want to take it off for a few minutes occasionally to let your skin breathe.

Verdict: Enjoy Your Glow Up

This is a cute, fun, and versatile BDSM collar and leash set. It’s also well made, strong, comfortable, and should last you a good long time. Best of all, it retails for an incredibly affordable £19.99/$24.99.

The Bondage Boutique Glow in the Dark Collar and Lead Set is available from Lovehoney UK and Lovehoney US. Don’t forget that you can get 10% off at Lovehoney with the code “AFF-COFFKINK10” at checkout!

[Lube Review] Promescent Personal Lubricants

I’m picky about lube. Like, super picky. This is for a good reason; there are a lot of ingredients that my body simply does not like or get along with. Having to stop sex because your vulva is burning as a result of some random lube you grabbed? Do not recommend. As a result, I tend to stick to a couple of favourite brands. When companies offer me lubes for review, I often either just say no or end up hating the product. However, I was intrigued enough by Promescent’s water-based, silicone-based, and organic aloe lube products to give it a go.

Couple in bed with lubes in foreground

Who Is Promescent?

Promescent is a company dedicated to closing the orgasm gap (a term for the fact that on average, cis men and other people with penises experience orgasm more frequently and more quickly than cis women and other people with vulvas during partnered sex.)

Promescent started out making an orgasm delay product for penis owners, but has now branched out into other lines including lube, condoms, massage oils, and arousal gels for vulva owners.

Promescent works with a medical advisory team including urologists and sexual medicine experts, and is additionally supported by a medical review team featuring names you may know, including Dr Justin Lehmiller and Dr Laura Berman, and a team of non-medical sexuality experts.

Promescent’s Lube Line

The Promescent team were kind enough to send me three of their lubes to try. I received the water-based lube, organic aloe-based lube, and silicone lube. I’m going to start by talking about the ingredients, then look at my experience with each product in turn.

Promescent organic and body safe lubes

Each lube comes in a 4fl oz (118ml) disk-cap bottle. You can also get larger 8fl oz bottles, or subscribe for regular deliveries and save 7%.

Ingredients and Safety

With such a large team of sexuality professionals and medical experts on board, one would expect Promescent to be using body-safe ingredients in their lubes. I looked closely at each label and did a deep dive on the internet to learn about them.

My main resources for this research were Condom Depot’s What’s In My Lube? guide, Incidecoder, and SkinCarisma’s ingredients analyser. After looking up every ingredient name I didn’t recognise, I feel safe in saying that these lubes do not contain any toxic ingredients and will be safe for anyone to use as long as you don’t have a specific allergy or sensitivity.

A small disclaimer here: the water-based lube does contain glycerin. This isn’t a toxic ingredient, but it is a form of sugar and can be problematic to people who are prone to yeast infections. Personally, I prefer not to use lubes with glycerin as they can have an unpleasant sticky feel and tend to leave my vulva feeling unhappy.

None of the Promescent lubes contain parabens (harmful chemicals that pop up distressingly often in lubricants and cosmetics and have been linked to hormone disruption, fertility issues, and even cancer.) All the lubes are also pH balanced, meaning they won’t have a negative impact on your vaginal health.

Let’s dive in one at a time and talk about how I got on with them!

Promescent Water-Based Lube

Promescent water-based lube

I always tell my readers that if they’re going to buy one type of lube, make it a quality water-based lube. That’s because water-based is the most versatile type of lube you can get, compatible with all toy materials and with both latex and non-latex barriers.

The Promescent water-based lube has a light, natural scent and a slight tangy taste. It’s very runny and slippery, and you only need a little bit to go a long way. This lube is quick-drying and did not leave any unwanted residue on either my body or my sheets. Due to the glycerin, though, it’s a little sticky.

A 4oz bottle of Promescent water-based lube retails for $8.99, making it the cheapest of the bunch. You can use it with any type of barrier and any sex toy material.

Use it for: oral sex, since it has the lightest taste, or playing with silicone toys.

Promescent Organic Aloe-Based Lube

Promescent organic aloe-based lube

I’ve never tried an aloe-based lube before, so this was a new one to me. I’ve been sniffing it and trying to work out what the scent reminds me of. It’s very botanical. Basically, if “green” had a smell, it would be this. The aloe lube has a stronger taste than the water-based, though it’s still pretty mild and not unpleasant.

Texture-wise, the aloe lube is about the same thickness and consistency as the water-based. However, I found that it absorbed into my skin more slowly, meaning that it lasted longer. This makes it perfect for lube-heavy activities such as anal play!

It’s got a lovely, slippery feel that is the closest of the three to natural lubrication. It left my skin feeling soft and non-sticky, and did not stain my sheets.

FYI: the aloe lube isn’t safe for use with polyurethane condoms, but latex and polyisoprene are fine. It pairs well with all body-safe sex toy materials.

A 4oz bottle of Promescent organic aloe lube retails for $9.49.

Use it for: anal sex, vaginal penetration with a penis or toy.

Promescent Silicone Lube

Promescent silicone lube

Silicone lube is divisive in the sex-geek world. Some people love it, others hate it. I love it in the right contexts, but in practice I don’t use it very often. That’s because silicone lube can sometimes damage silicone toys (though it doesn’t always) and a large percentage of my toy collection consists of silicone products.

Silicone also requires more clean-up, since it can stain certain fabrics and is harder to get off your skin. I recommend putting a towel down for easy clean up when you’re done. With that said, silicone lube also has a lot of advantages and I enjoyed getting a chance to experiment with it.

Promescent’s silicone lube contains just four ingredients. It is thinner and runnier than many other silicone lubricants I’ve encountered. Again, you really only need a little bit and it goes a long way. It did leave my skin slightly sticky, but washed away easily with my usual soap.

The texture of this lube is super slick and silky, which makes it absolutely perfect for hand sex. Clitoral stimulation is a lot more comfortable and pleasurable when there’s sufficient lubrication, and Promescent’s silicone lube is an excellent choice for this purpose. It’s also ideal for bath and shower sex, since it isn’t water-soluble.

A 4oz bottle of Promescent silicone lube retails for $12.99.

Use it for: hand sex (on yourself or a partner), playing with non-silicone toys.

So Which Promescent Lube is My Favourite?

It’s a tough call, but the organic aloe-based lube is a surprising winner for me! The slick, moisturising feel and the pleasant natural scent just clinch it. But honestly they’re all great products that absolutely deserve a place on your nightstand.

FYI: this review was sponsored, which means Promescent paid me to test their products and write an honest review. Images are courtesy of Promescent and used with permission. All views are, as always, my own.

[Toy Review] Pillow Talk Cheeky Wireless Wand Vibrator

I fell in love with Pillow Talk when I reviewed the Sassy a few months back. So, when I got the chance to try out another toy from this range, I was happy to oblige. Let’s take a closer look at Pillow Talk Cheeky, a mini wireless wand vibrator.

Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand: Details

The Pillow Talk Cheeky is a wireless small wand style vibrator measuring 8″ in length. In the box you’ll find the toy, charging cable, a branded storage pouch, instructions, and even a little cleaning brush to help clean in those little grooves and ridges.

Pillow Talk Cheeky magic wand vibrator

The Pillow Talk Cheeky is made of body-safe silicone in a gorgeous mint/turquoise shade. I particularly love this colour for sex toys because it’s just so unusual (and pretty!) The Cheeky is also available in pink, if that’s more your thing.

The Cheeky is waterproof and rechargeable rechargeable via the included USB cable. It also has a travel lock.

Pillow Talk Cheeky: What I Liked

I was expecting great things from the Cheeky, given that amazing motor in the Sassy. I was not disappointed! The power starts off at an impressive rumble and builds to knock-your-socks-off intensity.

The single button interface on this toy are a little unusual. You press the button once to switch it on and off, and then hold it down to ramp up the power. I like this, because it allows for really fine grading on exactly what level of power you want. The light will flash while you’re turning up the power, then stop flashing when you’ve reached the highest level. Getting from the lowest to the highest setting takes a full ten seconds, to give you an idea of how much range this thing has!

The Pillow Talk Cheeky’s button, by the way, is a sparkly and light-catching crystal. Unnecessary, but cute.

Green wand vibrator Pillow Talk Cheeky

The Cheeky is lovely to hold thanks to the plushy soft silicone and cushioned handle. The neck is flexible, making it easy to angle the toy just right, however you prefer your stimulation. It’s also relatively light, and the vibrations are concentrated in the head and don’t transmit too much through the handle.

Green magic wand vibrator clitoral sex toy

Anything I Didn’t Like?

As usual, I would have preferred up/down controls. Only being able to change the speed in one direction without going all the way back to the beginning isn’t ideal.

The Pillow Talk Cheeky’s battery life is also poor. On a full charge, it lasted less than an hour. This isn’t a deal-breaker because I can get off with this toy reliably in under 10 minutes, but it’s something to be aware of.

Pillow Talk Cheeky Wand: Verdict

The Cheeky is a winner. Powerful, cute, and simpler to use. It’s an ideal balance between the broad and powerful stimulation of a wand and the relatively small and lightweight design of a smaller toy.

Pillow Talk Cheeky retail prices start from £80/$66. It’s available from retailers such as Sex Toys UK, Good Vibes, Shevibe, and Babeland.

A retailer that is sadly no longer in business sent me the Pillow Talk Cheeky wand to review. All opinions, as ever, are mine. Affiliate links appear in this post.

[Kink Product Review] Lovehoney Supreme Sensation Pussy Pump

Alongside my regular sex toy reviews and lingerie reviews, I thought it would be fun to review a few more niche and unusual kink items. I’ve been wanting to try a pussy pump for ages, and Lovehoney were kind enough to hook me up so I could test and review one for you.

What is a Pussy Pump?

A pussy pump features a cup or “chamber,” usually made of plastic, which sits over the vulva and creates a vacuum. When you use the attached pump, it pulls the air out and the seal gets tighter. The suction pulls blood into your vulva, giving it an engorged appearance and making everything much more sensitive. If you’re familiar with skin cupping, it’s basically the same mechanism.

Lovehoney Pussy Pump

The Lovehoney Supreme Sensation Pussy Pump, which I received to review, is one iteration of this concept. The clear plastic chamber is 4″ in length, which is sufficient to encase the clitoris, vaginal opening, and much of the vulva on most bodies. The hose is 19″ long and the finishes with the hand-held purple pumping bulb.

Supreme Sensation Pussy Pump from Lovehoney

This pussy pump features two release valves. The first is at the base of the bulb, and the second is on top of the chamber. This means that if you want to remove the hose when the chamber is in place, you can release the suction without having to reattach everything. I actually don’t recommend removing the hose, for reasons we’ll get into in a minute.

Lovehoney Pussy Pump Review

Pussy pumping takes a bit of practice, but it’s pretty easy once you’ve found the best way to use it for your body. We’re all slightly different shapes and sizes, so experiment to find the positioning that works best for you.

You’ll also likely need to use some lube to create a good seal. I found that lining the rim of the chamber with water-based lube worked well.

Pussy pump chamber

A note if you have pubic hair: you absolutely can use a pussy pump without removing your hair! It might be a little more challenging to get a seal and you might need to use more lube than someone with a shaven vulva, but it can be done relatively easily!

This might be a simple positioning issue, but I did find that the Lovehoney Supreme Sensation Pussy Pump needed re-pumping regularly during use as the suction gradually loosened. I suspect this was due to not having a perfect seal – more experimentation needed. For this reason, we kept the hose attached and re-pumped a bit every couple of minutes.

Lovehoney Pussy Pump Review: How Does It Feel?

I was a little nervous to test and review a pussy pump because I’ve tried suction type sensations on other parts of my body and not particularly liked it. I wasn’t sure if it would be painful, pleasurable, or somewhere in between.

Pussy pumping kit from Lovehoney

The sensation is probably best described as “interesting.” It certainly doesn’t hurt unless you pump it to its absolute max. Even then the sensation is a kind of tugging, throbbing intensity rather than a sharp pain.

Is it pleasurable? Well… sort of. Some people say that the sensation of pumping is hugely pleasurable by itself, and some can even orgasm from it. That wasn’t my experience. It felt sort of nice, but not something that’s going to get me off any time soon.

The aftermath, though? That’s where the really good stuff is! Because pumping draws blood into the area, it left my vulva engorged and super sensitive. The orgasm I had shortly after testing the pussy pump for this review snuck up on me with a speed and intensity that was pretty out of the ordinary!

Verdict

If you’re curious about pussy pumping and want to give it a go, then sure! Pumping can increase sensitivity and can be a fun and intimate thing to play with either on its own or in a kink context.

The Supreme Sensation Pussy Pump retails for £26.99 from Lovehoney UK or $29.99 from Lovehoney US (and you can get 10% off this and anything else at Lovehoney using my code AFF-COFFKINK10 at checkout.) An interesting and different addition to our kit bag, which we’ll definitely use again.

Thanks to Lovehoney for sending me the Supreme Sensation Pussy Pump to review. All opinions mine, as ever. Affiliate links appear in this post.

[Kink Product Review] Dominix Deluxe Cat Claw Skin Scratcher

Lovehoney were kind enough to recently send me a few niche kink items so I could create some mini reviews. Today we’re looking at this set of sensation play claws from the Lovehoney Dominix range.

Lovehoney Dominix Cat Claw Skin Scratcher

The Cat Claw Skin Scratcher is a sensation play toy from the Lovehoney Dominix range inspired by cat claws. It is wearable on any finger and held in place by two ring loops. It features two sharp scratchy “claws.”

The Cat Claw Skin Scratcher is made of metal and covered in a matte black, tarnish-free powder coating. The look is simple yet sexy, and the Scratcher will fit most fingers. (It’s actually a bit big for me, but my hands are tiny!)

What is Sensation Play?

Sensation play is exactly what it sounds like: playing with sensations in a kinky or sexual context. Sensation play can involve playing with pain, but it absolutely doesn’t have to. It can be erotic, soothing, intense, gentle… almost anything you want it to be! Sensation play can include tickling, stroking, scratching with fingernails or claws toys like this one, or any other interesting or intense sensation.

I love sensation play both for its own sake, and as a precursor or add-on to other kinky activities. Sensation play pairs well with bondage and restraint, can add a kinky twist to massage, and can warm up the body ready for impact play.

Remember that sensation play can be surprisingly intense, even if you’re not playing with pain. It’s important to negotiate throughly, check in regularly with your partner, and ensure ongoing and enthusiastic consent.

So How Does This Sensation Play Claws Scratcher Feel?

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the Dominix Deluxe scratcher when I requested it for review. It is surprisingly sharp! Just like an actual kitty’s claws, it could absolutely draw blood if you’re not careful.

(I don’t recommend drawing blood deliberately. If you absolutely must, at least practice good hygiene and ensure your Scratcher is sterile.)

I’m very into the feeling of being scratched. Whether it’s a lover’s fingernails or a Wartenberg wheel, something about it is very erotic to me. So I love the feeling of the Cat Claw Skin Scratcher. It’s less stingy-intense than a pinwheel, but a step up from scratching with just nails.

Non-kinky bonus: if I get an itch on my back, this sensation play claws scratcher is also useful for scratching those hard-to-reach spots! And aesthetically, it’s fun to wear with my catsuit and ears.

Where is it Safe to Scratch?

Most places, if you’re careful! Upper backs, butts, thighs, and other muscular or fleshy areas are always good. Breasts and genitals are probably okay if you’re careful. Don’t scratch on or near the face, and be very cautious around joints and bony areas.

Sensation Play Claws: Verdict

A fun and sexy addition to your sensation play kit!

This sensation play claws scratcher retails for £19.99 from Lovehoney UK or $29.99 from Lovehoney US.

Purrrrrrrr-fect!

[Toy Review] Njoy Pure Wand

I very rarely buy sex toys these days; one of the big perks of running a sex toy review blog. But I’ve had my eyes on the Njoy Pure Wand for ages so, when it was on significant discount in Lovehoney’s Black Friday sale, I decided to go ahead and get one so I could finally test and review it.

Njoy Pure Wand: Details

The Njoy Pure Wand is something of a legend in the sex toy world, and I’ve been wanting to review it for years. It is a super-hefty, super-shiny, C-shaped stainless steel dildo. Cast in 316 grade steel and measuring 8″ end-to-end and 10″ along the curve, this is an absolute beast of a toy. This is genuinely in the don’t-take-it-on-a-plane-because-they-might-think-it’s-a-weapon category!

Njoy Pure Wand in its box

The Pure Wand features two bulbed ends, one larger (5.5″ circumference) and one smaller (3″ circumference.)

The Njoy Pure Wand arrived packaged in a sleek and sturdy Njoy-branded box, lined with black velvety material and pink satin. It’s a nice presentation touch and also a convenient way to store your toy.

A Note on Steel Toys

Stainless steel is non-porous, body-safe, and designed to last a lifetime. It’s also beautiful to look at and feels incredible in use (more on that in a minute.) It is compatible with any type of lube, and is basically indestructible. So yes, the Njoy Pure Wand is pricey but it is a true investment piece.

Stainless steel dildos are also incredibly easy to clean. Just use a sterile wipe or 10% bleach solution, followed by a rinse with gentle soap and warm water.

You can heat up a stainless steel toy by running it under warm water before you play, or cool it down by popping it in the fridge for a few minutes.

A Note on Squirting

Read almost any review of the Njoy Pure Wand, and you’ll see mention of squirting. This product has a reputation for being the toy to make people with vulvas ejaculate, or “squirt.”

I wanted to address this because it’s important to keep expectations realistic. Squirting isn’t something all bodies are capable of. It’s also not something everyone wants. I’ve never done it, and while I’m moderately curious what it would feel like, it’s not a goal I am actively chasing. If it happens it happens, you know?

So did the Njoy Pure Wand make me squirt? No. At least not so far. Regardless of whether it does or not for you, that’s okay.

Njoy Pure Wand Review: In Use

Despite lusting after it for years, I was a little nervous when it came to actually using the Njoy Pure Wand. Stainless steel is rigid, unyielding, and has a reputation for being incredibly intense as a sex toy material.

This is a toy that requires a LOT of lube. Stainless steel looks smooth, but can feel quite “grabby” when you come to insert it. Since it’s so hard and rigid, lube will just make the whole experience so much more comfortable. Water-based or silicone-based lubes are compatible with steel toys.

The Njoy Pure Wand is intense. Like seriously, seriously intense. Its pressure against my G-spot made me feel like I wanted to orgasm and pee all at the same time. (I’m told this is what the precursor to squirting can feel like, but it didn’t happen for me.)

Verdict

I absolutely love this dildo. I also recognise that it won’t be for everyone.

If you like intense G-spot or prostate stimulation and can use hard toys comfortably or enjoy a level of overstimulation, then the Njoy Pure Wand will probably rock your world.

The Njoy Pure Wand’s RRP is £149.99/$179.99 and it is available from retailers such as Lovehoney UK, Lovehoney US, Shevibe, Good Vibes, and Babeland.

[Toy Review] Lovense Ferri

Lovense Ferri review update/disclaimer 2025: Lovense has come under fire for significant security breaches in the last few months, including allegedly exposing users’ email addresses in the supposedly-anonymous app. Though the company claims to have fixed the problem, this is part of a pattern of worrying privacy concerns when it comes to app-controlled sex toys in general. Do with this information what you choose, but it has made me extremely hesitant about using toy apps personally. I have updated my Lovense posts including this Ferri review to include this information to allow you to make an informed choice.

I’ve had mixed experiences with Lovense. I finally got my hands on the Lush, which half the sex-positive internet seems to be obsessed with, and I didn’t get what the fuss was about. Then I tried the Domi and fell in love. So what of the Lovense Ferri?

Lovense Ferri Review: Small But Mighty

The first thing that struck me about the Lovense Ferri is just how small it is. It is a miniature knicker vibrator (design to be worn inside your underwear) measuring just 3″ in length.

The Ferri has a little magnetic clip which holds it in place and means you can use it with pretty much any pair of knickers you choose. Its curved shape sits comfortably against your body, and the underside is gently ridged for enhanced clitoral stimulation.

Palm of my hand for scale!

The Ferri is waterproof, USB rechargeable, and offers 180 minutes of run time for a two hour charge. It is Bluetooth compatible and can be app controlled, which we’ll get more into in a minute.

Best of all, the Ferri is powerful as hell. There’s a lot of motor packed into a small space here.

To App or Not to App?

I’ve said this in other reviews of other Lovense toys, but you really do need the app to get the full functionality from the Lovense Ferri. The toy itself features a single-button interface, three pre-programmed speeds, and four patterns. Which is fine, but also pretty limited for such an expensive toy. You also can’t really use it for its intended “wearable” purpose without the app, since it doesn’t come with a remote control.

Lovense’s app is genuinely excellent. It’s honestly at least twice as good as any other sex toy app I’ve tested. However, it also comes with some potential privacy issues because it insists on having access to various parts of your phone, so do with that information what you will.

The Lovense Remote app is free to download and compatible with iOS and Android. You can also get Mac and PC versions, if you prefer.

Download the app, set up a free account, switch on your toy, and ensure your Bluetooth is connected. Then click the link symbol in the top right corner. My Lovense Ferri connected in a second and maintained a steady connection throughout use.

Lovense Ferri Review: App Functions

Here are just a few of the fun things you can do with the Lovense Ferri and the Lovense Connect app:

  • Use the “Remote” control panel to change the vibration speed or use the “loop” button to create a repeating pattern.
  • Find pre-installed vibration patterns and your previously saved settings in “My Patterns.”
  • Schedule the toy to start vibrating at a specific time with the “Alarm” function. Fun if you want to wear it to sleep and then get vibed awake, maybe?
  • Make your toy respond to nearby sounds such as music and voices with the “Sound” setting. You could even watch porn and sync the toy with the sounds, if you want!
  • Vibe along to music stored on your device (or linked through a service like Spotify) with the “Music” function.

You can also connect any Lovense toy with cam sites like Chaturbate, MyFreeCams, and Manyvids. If you’re a performer, this can be a fun way to interact with your fans. You can even programme your toy to respond to tips.

I haven’t tried this myself as I’m not a cam performer, but reviews are generally favourable.

Long Distance

It wouldn’t be a comprehensive Lovense review without testing the Ferri’s long distance functionality. Whether you’re in a long distance relationship or currently apart, you can use the “Long Distance” app function to give your partner control of your vibe.

There are two ways to do this. Your partner can download the app, create an account, and give you their username to connect. Alternatively, you can create a “control link” which can last from a few seconds up to an hour, and is single-use only.

Again, connectivity is strong and reliable and the toy is super responsive. Just make sure your internet connection is stable.

Verdict

Yes and yes and yes again! I can’t believe that something so small could be so brilliant, but this is an absolute winner.

Lovense Ferri prices start from for £129.99/$119 and it is available from Lovehoney UK, Lovehoney US, Good Vibes, Babeland, Shevibe, Sex Toys UK, and, directly from Lovense.

[Toy Review] Lovehoney x Womanizer Inside Out

After some excellent recent collaborations, I have come to expect great things from a Lovehoney/Womanizer product. So when the Lovehoney x Womanizer Inside Out landed in my review pile, I was ready to be wowed.

Did it live up to expectations?

Lovehoney x Womanizer Inside Out

The Inside Out by Womanizer and Lovehoney is a dual stimulation clitoral and G-spot toy. It’s a similar shape to a rabbit vibrator but, instead of the traditional “bunny ears,” the clitoral stimulator is a suction toy using Womanizer’s patented Pleasure Air tech.

Lovehoney Womanizer InsideOut dual stimulation vibrator

The Inside Out is superficially similar to the Womanizer Duo, though there are some key differences. Specifically, the Inside Out has a shaft that is pretty much the same width all the way along, while the Duo has a more pronounced head. The Duo also has some fancy bonus features that the Inside Out lacks, such as the Smart Silence function.

The InsideOut is fully waterproof, and rechargeable via USB. Its shaft is 4.5″ in insertable length, and the whole thing is 7.5″ long. It is made of smooth body-safe silicone in the same shade of purple as Lovehoney’s Desire range.

Womanizer x Lovehoney Inside Out Review: What I Did Like

First, the good.

Womanizer vibrator in collaboration with Lovehoney

This toy’s clitoral suction stimulator is amazing. It really ought to be, given that that’s the main thing Womanizer is known for! It has 12 settings and comes with a second nozzle, which has a wider opening. The extra nozzle is ideal if you have a larger clit or like stimulation over a broader area.

I also like the flexibility of the shaft. A common complaint with dual stimulation toys is that they just don’t take different body configurations into account. But because the Inside Out’s shaft flexes, you can position it however you like, making it easier to stimulate your clit and G-spot effectively at the same time.

Speaking of G-spot stimulation, that curved shaft is ideally shaped. I also like that it’s not too thick, since slimline is usually my preference when it comes to penetrative toys.

Womanizer Inside Out Review: What I Didn’t Like

Unfortunately, the Lovehoney x Womanizer Inside Out has some really significant downsides. First, it’s loud as fuck. The clitoral suction part makes an enraging rattling buzz that sounds like a cross between a lawnmower and my coffee machine when it runs out of water.

The Inside Out somehow gets rated 4/5 for “Quietness” in on-site product reviews, which is just laughably inaccurate. It is so loud, and in a way that is distracting enough to significantly reduce any pleasure I’m getting from the toy.

Secondly, the buttons are finnicky. I consistently struggle to get the Inside Out to reliably turn on and off, and sometimes have to press the button two or three times to get it to do what I want. For some reason, the red “power” light stays on inside the nozzle for several minutes, even when you’ve switched the toy off.

Finally, the vibrations in the shaft are super buzzy. This is less of a problem for me personally, since my idea of good internal vibes is no internal vibes. But lots of people do enjoy G-spot-targeted vibrations and if this is you, you’re likely to find the Inside Out’s power disappointing. I tried to repurpose the shaft as a clitoral vibe, and it was neither powerful nor rumbly enough to be pleasurable.

Verdict

The Lovehoney x Womanizer Inside Out has a lot of potential but is really let down by its significant flaws. While I did get some pleasure out of using it, thanks to the flexible positioning and strong suction settings, it left me disappointed overall.

After some major Lovehoney/Womanizer winners, this one is a miss.

Notably, the InsideOut retails for £119.99/$129 and is available from Lovehoney UK and Lovehoney US.
